It only takes two power supply options: 110-240 V AC or 24-30 V DC, meaning there’s no 12V power input.

It is suitable for the same devices as the 1 Mini, namely lights, appliances, door locks, doorbells, fans, and similar devices.

Shelly EM Mini Gen4

Shelly EM Mini Gen4The last model is not designed to be connected behind a switch, but rather an outlet with the Shelly EM Mini Gen4 designed for power monitoring of AC appliances up to 3840 Watts (240V @ 16 A). There’s no relay inside, and it’s only designed as a multi-protocol, wireless power meter, although the company also mentions it works as a Wi-Fi and Zigbee range extender & Bluetooth gateway.

  1. Oh, they all have Matter?! Nice.

Does anybody here have experience with Matter. Is it as open and standard as it’s promised? Can you connect from a python Matter client and have all features as advertised by the hardware supplier?

    1. Just have a look on Wikipedia, it’s all explained there, but yes, it’s an open standard, until you want to actually connect your device to a matter network, which requires you to pay up.

    2. Matter support is very complicated, but there is support in Home Assistant, however it does not work great so advice using Zigbee instead for now.
