M5Stack’s Unit Gateway H2 is a small Thread/Zigbee gateway powered by the ESP32-H2-MINI-1 module with an 802.15.4 radio for Zigbee 3.0, Thread 1.3, and Matter connectivity.
The Unit Gateway H2, also known as Gateway H2 Unit…, can operate as a gateway (e.g. a Thread Board Router) or a terminal device that communicates with a M5Stack device via serial/UART through the Grove interface. It also features a USB-C port for power, firmware flash, and debugging. M5Stack says it’s suitable for smart homes, environmental monitoring, sensor networks, and low-power wireless communication nodes.

The Unit Gateway H2 ships with a 20cm Grove cable. Software development can be performed through the Arduino IDE, the ESP-IDF framework, and soon the UIFlow 2.0 visual programming platform. The documentation has Arduino examples for Zigbee and OpenThread communication, and ESP-IDF tutorials showing how to use the Gateway H2 as a Thread Border Router or a Zigbee gateway when coupled with CoreS3 controller, as well as a Zigbee Network Co-Processor (NCP).
M5Stack is selling the ESP32-H2-based Gateway H2 Unit for $6.50 on AliExpress and its own online store, Depending on the target application, you can also need an IoT controller like the M5Stack CoreS3 SE or M5Stack ATOMS3 Lite.

can it function as a Zigbee router?
Strange they call it a gateway when it has only wireless stack and its needs another device to actually function as a gateway.
