The popular Home Assistant has gotten an update with version 2025.3 that brings dashboard view headers, several tile card improvements, better map clustering, streamed responses from LLMs, and improved SmartThings integrations.
Let’s have a look at some of the improvements starting with dashboard view headers which allow users to add a title and welcoming text to dashboards using Markdown and templates. You can also add badges next to the headers.

Home Assistant 2025.3 also brings plenty of improvements to tile cards:
- Adding a circular background around tiles that perform actions, and leaving the ones that just show extra information without a circle
- Features of a tile card can now be positioned inline in the tile card (e.g. on/off button)
- New features: switch toggle, counter toggle (to increase, decrease, or reset a counter entity), animations when hovering over atile card
- Editor improvements for ease of use

The new version of Home Assistant also implements grouping/clustering of trackables on the maps. That’s useful when too many clusters are together in the same spot. Marker clustering groups nearby entities together, and you can also see all entities when zooming in. This is optional and can be disabled.

You previously had to wait for the full answer from an LLM such as ChatGPT when getting a reply in the Assist chat. Home Assistant 2025.3 implements streaming responses, so you can read the reply while it is generated. Not more long waits…
Home Assistant 2025.3 also benefits from new integrations:
- Azure Storage – Use Azure Storage as a target location for your backups.
- IOmeter – Read out your IOmeter device data locally.
- PG LAB Electronics – Control your PG LAB Electronics devices from Home Assistant
- SensorPush Cloud – Integrate your SensorPush devices with Home Assistant, using their cloud service.
- SNOO – Get the state of your SNOO Smart Sleeper Bassinet into Home Assistant.
- WebDAV – Use any WebDAV compatible service as a target location for your backups.
Finally, there’s been a major change to the SmartThings integration since it has been completely rewritten from scratch. It’s now easier to use, and you can just log in with your Samsung account, and that’s it. No more setting up routing, exposing ports, or creating developer accounts with access tokens.
More changes can be found in the announcement. You should get a notification asking you to proceed with the core update, or you can follow the installation instructions for your hardware.
