NanoCOM-ADN – A COM Express Type 10 Module based on Intel Alder Lake-N SoC

AAEON NanoCOM-ADN is a compact (84 x 55mm) COM Express Type 10 module based on Intel Alder Lake-N SoCs, namely Processor N50/N97, Atom x7425E, or Core i3-N305 that adds another option to the SMARC, Qseven, and COM Express Type 6 modules offered by the company with the same processors.

The NanoCOM-ADN computer-on-module features up to 16GB LPDDR5x soldered-on memory, up to 64GB eMMC flash, and two Intel i226-V 2.5GbE controllers. Its standard 220-pin COM Express board-to-board connector exposes two SATA interfaces, four PCIe Gen3 x1 interfaces, DDI and LVDS video outputs, eight USB interfaces, and more. AAEON explains the Alder Lale-N COM Express Type 10 CPU module is especially suited to digital signage, healthcare imaging, machine vision, industrial, robotics, and edge computing applications.

The NanoCOM-ADN supports Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) and Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS with Linux 6.5 kernel. You’ll find drivers, BIOS, a datasheet, and a user manual on the product page linked below. I was somewhat expecting AAEON to offer one of the new Twin Lake SoCs officially announced at CES 2025, but that’s not the case, and the only such module I’ve come across so far is the congatec Conga-SA8 powered by an Intel Core i3-N355.

The ECB-920A-A11 COM Express Type 6/10 ATX carrier board is available for evaluation with one 2.5GbE jack, eight USB 2.0 ports, four SATA ports, three DisplayPort connectors, a VGA connector, LVDS, eDP, audio jacks, and more. The company also offers two cooling solutions: an 84 x 55mm heat spreader and an 84 x 55mm cooler (cooling fan).

  1. Do adapter boards exist that can convert/break-out the 220 pin B2B connector on this, for example, to 2 x 100 pin connectors such as those standard on compute modules?
