MSI Alder Lake-N N100 industrial Mini PC with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise

While it can be used on a desktop, a VESA mount can also be provided. The tiny computer runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise 64-bit 22H2, and the main advantage over a regular Windows 11 installation, is that it is supported for at least 10 years which may be important for commercial applications. The company brands it as an “industrial lite box” because it’s designed for indoor business use cases, and it’s not designed to run in harsh industrial environments.

Other Windows 11 Home/Pro palm-sized Alder Lake-N mini PCs we covered or reviewed in the past include the Blackview MP80 (N97) mini PC, the iKOOLCORE R2 for networking with four 2.5GbE ports, and the T9 Plus mini PC among others.

Since the MSI MS-C918 is not a consumer device, it might never become available for purchase online, and the company tells interested parties to contact its sales team to place an order. Additional information may be found on the product page and in the press release.

  1. I’ve heard of MSI’s Cubi mini PCs, but didn’t realize they would make something like this.

  2. Up to 4GB LPDDR5 (not enuf) and sales prevention tactics: “Since the MSI MS-C918 is not a consumer device, it might never become available for purchase online, and the company tells interested parties to contact its sales team to place an order.” Sheeesh, why bother to make the thing in the first place?

    1. It’s probably because they don’t want to waste resources on individual customers who may buy this (and ask for support). I’d also assume it might not be price-competitive in the consumer market as the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise license itself might cost about as much as a new Intel N100 mini PC with Windows 11 Home/Pro.
