LILYGO T-Display S3 Pro – A 2.33-inch ESP32-S3 color touchscreen display with enclosure

LILYGO T-Display S3 Pro is another ESP32-S3 powered WiFi and Bluetooth display from the company with a 2.33-inch color touchscreen LCD, a plastic enclosure, support for USB-OTG, two QWIIC connectors, and a 470 mAh battery.

We’re told the T-Display S3 Pro is an update to the T-Display S3 (and by extension of the T-Display S3 Touch and T-Display S3 AMOLED models) but the display is quite bigger at 2.33-inch and with higher resolution (480×222), it comes with an ABS case with an integrated battery by default, adds support for USB OTG, and also includes a few sensors that are missing from the earlier models.

LILYGO mentions support for both the Arduino IDE and MicroPython programming for the display. But looking at the GitHub repository, I can only see Arduino samples, along with PDF schematics, firmware files, and datasheets. There are just basic instructions for both Arduino and MicroPython. Note the iOS-like UI in the photos above is just for show so don’t expect to use Facetime on the thing 🙂 That also means you’re expected to write your own firmware using the samples and your knowledge.

The T-Display S3 Pro devkit is available on Aliexpress for $41.98 including shipping. The optional camera module doesn’t seem to be ready just yet, and a kit with the GC0308 camera module is listed on the product page as being “sold out”, so I just guess we need to wait a few more weeks before the camera kit becomes available.
