Firefly’s Station P2S mini PC is a new variant of the Station P2 based on Rockchip RK3568 Cortex-A55 SoC that adds support for 4G LTE cellular data connectivity, but downgrades to WiFi 5 instead of WiFi 6, but only supports shorter M.2 2242 NVMe SSDs.
The Station P2S still comes with up to 8GB RAM, 128GB eMMC flash, and supports dual Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0 4Kp60 video output, 2.5-inch SATA 3.0 storage, and integrates a few USB 3.0/2.0 ports, plus an RJ45 jack for RS232 and RS485 serial interfaces.

Firefly offers Android 11, Ubuntu 20.04, and OpenWrt images for the mini PC, as well as the company’s own Android-based Station OS with desktop and media modes. The product page on the Firefly’s website lists some older operating systems, but it’s probably a copy/paste issue, and the Station P2S OS images are likely to be similar, and possibly the same, as the ones for the Station P2 mini PC found on the download section of stationpc.com website.
The Station P2S mini PC does not show up on the Firefly store just yet, but for reference, the Station P2 is now selling for $199 with 2GB RAM and 32GB flash, so the Station P2S Rockchip RK3568 mini PC should probably cost around $250 with 4G LTE connectivity. We are not told how 4G LTE is implemented (soldered module or M.2 module), and which bands are supported, but I suppose those important details will be released before the mini PC actually starts selling…

Agh! I was hoping it’d give more info about the LTE module…
Probably ever since I had my eye on the Rock 5B, I’ve been looking for cellular modules that would work with it.
I was especially interested in “Foxconn T99W175” 5G module, but I couldn’t see any guarantee it’d work with any of the interfaces.
I picked that module since it was commonplace (aka “cheap”) and in at&t’s spreadsheet list of approved modules.
I’ve got my Rock now, but still would like a cellular module that’d work with it. I just don’t see any adapters for M.2 key-b.
In the meantime, I’ve just been using my old mobley for internet. It’s slow and finicky, that I have to randomly restart it.
