reComputer Jetson mini PCs feature Jetson Nano or Xavier NX modules

recomputer jetson mini pc

Seeed Studio’s reComputer Jetson series mini PCs are built around NVIDIA Jetson Nano or Xavier NX system-on-module and designed for Edge AI applications.

Four models have been designed with the Jetson-10-1-A0 mini PC equipped with a carrier board of the same name and Jetson Nano module, while the Jetson A206 carrier board is integrated into Jetson-10-1-H0 also with Jetson Nano, as well as Jetson-20-1-H1 and Jetson-20-1-H2 based on Jetson Xavier NX with 8GB and 16GB RAM respectively.

Jetson-10-1-A0 carrier board

If the carrier board looks familiar, it’s because the design is also identical to the carrier board found in the NVIDIA Jetson Nano 2GB developer kit, with the main differences being the addition of a MIPI CSI connector, an M.2 key E socket, and an RTC header. The Micro USB port for debugging has also been replaced by a USB Type-C connector, and Jetson-10-1A0 ships with a mass production module with 16GB flash, instead of a MicroSD card slot.

Jetson M2 Key E & Key M sockets

As mentioned in the specifications, you’ll only be able to use the CAN bus and the M.2 Key E socket with a Jetson Xavier NX module, and those two interfaces will be disabled in mini PCs with a Jetson Nano module.

Software support and documentation

The Ubuntu-based NVIDIA JetPack 4.6 comes pre-installed in all reComputer Jetson mini PCs. This allows users to deploy popular DNN models and ML frameworks to the edge for tasks like real-time classification and object detection, pose estimation, semantic segmentation, and natural language processing (NLP) among others. You’ll find everything to get started on Seeed Studio wiki including three demo projects, namely “Maskcam” crowd face mask usage monitoring based on Jetson Nano, Hard Hat Detection leveraging Edge Impulse, and DashCamNet and PeopleNet with Jetson Xavier NX and multiple cameras in order to detect cards and people with the help of NVIDIA TAO framework.

Availability and Pricing

All four models can be found for pre-order on Seeed Studio:

  • $199 – reComputer Jetson-10-1-A0 available on May 31, 2022
  • $259 – reComputer Jetson-10-1-H0 scheduled for April 29, 2022
  • $599 – reComputer Jetson-20-1-H1 expected on June 13, 2022 at the latest
  • $699 – reComputer Jetson-20-1-H2 expected on June 5, 2022 at the latest

What’s confusing is that all pages show “1 on backorder”, and to me, that means the available quantity would be just one for each. Maybe that’s a mistake, and that means one batch.
