  1. Why would someone release an a new tabnet or phone with Android 8 now?

Even releasing a new device with Android 9 is pushing it as Android 11 has been released.

I would not buy a new device today that did not at least have Android 9 is my plans was not soley to hack it with an other OS.

    1. At a size of 21.5″ and with VESA mounts, I won’t call this a tablet anymore…. And probably you would not buy a tablet of that size, whatever its Android version 😉

It is not a product for mass consumption, but rather oriented to professionals and to be used in kiosk mode, loaded with a custom app (so it doesn’t care about being bleeding edge OS). Just imagine a kind of usage like self-service point-of-sale in a shop.

      1. I know plenty of people who would want one or several of them in their homes for different interactive displays, including home automation control
