EEPD Launches AMD Ryzen Embedded NUC Boards & Mini PCs

EEPD SBC Profive follows embedded NUC Standard

Electronic Equipment Production and Distribution, also known as EEPD, has just released its latest Embedded SBCs based on the AMD Ryzen Embedded R1000 and V1000 platforms. Respectively they are the SBC Profive NUCR and NUCR both designed for industrial uses. The NUCv has 4 variants with 2 different V1000 series CPUs to choose from, while the NUCR has two R1000 variants.

  1. There’s still no contender from x86 to compete with ARM on price point (except, maybe, atom like z83xx). What a pity.

  2. Same comments I posted at https://www.cnx-software.com/2019/10/05/amd-ryzen-embedded-sbc-four-4k-displays-linux-windows/#comments

Unless you’re planning to sell a solution based on these boards to a customer who needs N x dozens boxes, just move on to the next article.

I’m still looking for the equivalent of Ark Intel on the AMD web site where you could examine in excruciating details the specification documentation of these processors. Anybody knows?

It is unclear for instance whether or not the 2 x 10 Gigabit Ethernet and the USB3 consume PCIe lanes (see AMD product briefs). The diagrams in this article suggest the 2 x 1 Gbe do. Anyway, given the industry segments these boards target, 10Gbe is a moot point.

    1. Not that it matters. AMD has 32 pcie lanes. 8 to the igp, 4 to each m.2 slot (max), that’s still 12 pcie Lanes left over.

    1. The description page makes it obvious as to whom this product is intended.
