X96S Amlogic S905Y2 TV Stick Spotted for $39 and Up

Lacking Ethernet support, the latest Amlogic S905Y2 processor is designed for 4K HDMI TV dongles. However excluding Amlogic’s own TV stick reference design, we only had seen S905Y2 TV boxes so far, and no actual commercial product following the TV stick form factor.

That has now changed since X96S TV stick powered by Amlogic S905Y2 processor has appeared on several Aliexpress stores with price starting at $38.76 including international shipping.X96S amlogic S905Y2 TV StickX96S TV dongle specifications:

For $39, you’d get the model with 2GB/16GB configuration, but if you need more memory and storage capacity add about $10 for the 4GB/32GB TV stick.

    1. Actually, they don’t say, but I has to be an infrared remote control considering they include an external cable with an IR sensor…

  1. S905Y2 = ultra low power

    S905X2 = low power

    Good to hear there is TV stick with upgraded SoC, and can go up 4GB RAM.

      1. Less peripherals generally means less power, but don’t hold your breath. CPU, GPU and wireless are the biggest consumers. (actually using 905X2 wired with wireless disabled will quite likely consume less than 905Y2 under the same load)

    1. S905Y2 has a smaller package and less IO pads to make smaller devices. S905X2 is for regular sized TV devices and has more IO such as ethernet.
