SECO Q7-C25 / Q7-C26 QSeven SoMs Feature NXP i.MX 8M / i.MX 8Quad Processor

We’ve previously covered SECO’s SM-C12 SMARC 2.0 i.MX 8M system-on-module, but the company has just unveiled two new module families which are compliant with Qseven – another SoM standard – and powered by NXP i.MX 8M dual/quad core Cortex A53 processor and NXP i.MX 8Quad Cortex A53 or A72/A53 SoC with respectively Q7-C25 and Q7-C26 systems-on-module.

Both modules support Linux or Android BSP. Q7-C25 is said to be a “scalable solution for applications like domotics or vending, requiring advanced security, connectivity and multimedia”, while Q7-C26 offers “rich m2m interface to control on-board subsystems and wide connectivity” and delivers more performance and access to different interfaces such as SATA or DisplayPort.

The company also provides three choices of hardware for evaluation and development with their Q7 i.MX8 modules: CQ7-A42 carrier board, Q7 Dev Kit and Q7 Starter Kit.

SECO’s Q7 Starter Kit also features CQ7-A42 Qseven carrier board, but adds an HD audio module, an I2S audio module, a 12VDC notebook power adapter, a cable kit, and an adapter for mounting a microQ7 module on standard Qseven carrier boards, all packed in a suitcase. You’d still have to add your own Qseven Rel 2.0/2.1 compliant system-on-module.

The Q7 dev kit also comes in a suitcase, but instead features the huuuge CQ7-A30 carrier board with the following specifications:

Beside CS7-Q30 cross platform Qseven carrier board, the kits also includes an optional LVDS display, a 12VDC notebook power adapter, add-on modules for LVDS/eDP and HDMI/DP, as well as a cable kit.
