We has seen several announcements for products based on the latest Intel Gemini Lake processors at CES 2018 and after with devices such as ASRock J4105-ITX motherboard, or ECS LIVA Z2 mini PC, as well as some leaks for Gemini Lake laptops, but so far I could not find any devices sold on Chinese online sellers like Aliexpress or GearBest.
Today, I’ve just found out there’s at least on Gemini Lake devices on Aliexpress: Jumper EZBook X1 laptop with a 11.6″ touchscreen display, Intel Celeron N4100 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage.

Price is a little higher than one would have expected, as you’ll find the Gemini Lake laptop for $424.27 and up shipped on Aliexpress. [Update: The Gemini Lake notebook is also listed on GeekBuying]

So … is the “Intel Celeron N4100 quad core Gemini Lake processor” better than a Kaby Lake Celeron like the 3965U ?
Gemini Lake is only about N5000 and J5005, rest is not worth.
@Sander
Celeron 3965U is a 15W part, so I’d expect it to be faster than Celeron N4100, but the latter should offer better battery life. HDMI appears to be limited to version 1.4 on 3965U against native HDMI 2.0 on the GLK part.
Despite the $107 price for both on Intel website, the Gemini Lake should end up being a bit cheaper, since companies announced pricing similar to Apollo Lake at CES 2018.
Hopefully there will be cheaper and better laptops based on recently announced AMD SoCs, although it will take some time before they appear.
@fossxplorer
The new AMD processors appear to be targeting the embedded market, and I’m not sure they’ll be that cheap. TDP starts at 15W, and goes up to 54W, so power consumption will be higher.
