We’ve seen a few low costs devices powered by Rockchip RK3128 quad core processor recently, such as FirePrime development board, or Ruach A20s TV box, but CX939 is an even cheaper device, in HDMI TV stick form factor that currently sells for $28.20 on Aliexpress.

The device runs Android 4.4.2, and is said to be pre-loaded with Kodi, and with “more than 100 channels pre-installed”, whatever that means exactly. The stick ships with a power supply, a USB cable, an HDMI Cable, and a user’s manual.

Surfing through Aliexpress I found a S805 TV Box for US$18.91, the model is C918G Plus. The seller is somewhat shaddy, there is no ratings or customers feedback.
So, what do you guys think,is it worth the risk?

All of the RK3128 source code in at http://www.t-firefly.com
Including Android Lollipop.
But, you will have to make adjustments to it to support this specific device.
Try hooking adb up to it. It may already be rooted, most RK3128 are.

Yes, but 1688 is more for wholesale quantity purchases. Probably at least 100 before they will bother with you. The same STB boxes are over on taobao and aliexpress in single quantity with free ship for $30-35.
