A datasheet release should not really be news, but not all companies are as open as Freescale, and possibly for fear of IP theft or patent trolls, most companies decide to keep datasheet, technical reference manuals, and other documentation confidential, and only release them under NDA, so it may take months before they come out, if ever. Thanks to Hardkernel and their ODROID-C1 board, Amlogic has allowed the release of Amlogic S805 datasheet (PDF 123 pages).
The document is divided into two sections:
Section I : System
|
Section II: Interfaces
|
Amlogic normally releases part of the source on their Open Source Amlogic microsite, but for ODROID-C1, you’d simply better go to the board’s Wiki.

althought 123 pages is *really* light for a SoC like this, this is a good start. We can only hope that Amlogic gives even more!
(For comparison, Freescale i.MX6 Datasheet is around 5000 pages.)
@embedded_geek
I’ve been told datasheets are about 100 pages long, while technical reference manuals are the biggies with thousands of pages.
@cnxsoft
Yes you are right actually. I always work with the technical reference manuals, I’ve mixed them up.
Here “Video output/input Unit”, “Audio unit” and and the most important “Memory Interface” are totally forgot.
So no trm for s805 ?
