Intel has recently announced 2 educational Android 4.x tablets: The 10″ Intel Education Tablet powered by Intel Atom Z2460, and the 7″ Intel Education Tablet based on the newer Intel Atom Z2420. Beside standard features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual cameras, etc…, the tablets also come with items such as a temperature probe, and a snap-on magnification lenses for experimentation, as well as a educational software.

The 10″ model runs Android 4.0 (ICS), whereas the 7″ model with a newer processor runs a newer version of Android (4.1).
Both tablets are preloaded with Intel Educational Software such as:
- PASCO SPARKvue (Science)
- eLearning by Mythware (General subjects, quiz…)
- Lab Camera (Science) and Media Camera (Arts) by Intellisense
- MyScript Notes/Stylus Mobile
- ArtRage (Arts)
- Kno Textbooks
- Classroom Management
- Intel Education Resources including skoool content, math and science videos from Khan Academy, English language learning resources from the British Council, and a collection of digital literacy resources from Intel Education.
The company has also included some security applications with McAfee Mobile Security (for malware or identity theft), and Intel Education Theft deterrent (to prevent theft of school tablets).
