Well this thing wont sell in England for sure.
I hope that screen works in direct sunlight!
Are we sure this is not another “100 dollar laptop”-like project? It sounds too good to be true.
@Sander
Price seems a little too good. Maybe it will end up being the $500 dollar solar laptop.
Retail prices:
cost of 13 inch laptop with D2500 : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/13-3-Inch-Cheap-Laptop-Netbook-with-Intel-Atom-D2500-1-80Ghz-1GB-DDR3-RAM-160GB/582639466.html ==> USD 180 + shipping

So $300 does not seem too ambitious.

“WeWi says the notebook has stereo speakers, 3 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, an SD card reader, 10/100 Ethernet, GPS, dual-channel 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 3G/4G modem.” … plus 3 or 4 solar panels. Furthermore it’s rugged. Not comparable to the USD180 laptop you refered to.
And what makes me even more suspicious: different pictures with totally different laptops.
The laptops are now up for sale: http://store.solaptop.com/product-category/computers/
Prices are a bit higher than originally announced however: $500 CAD and up.
