U-See2 is a dual-sided screen with a swivel arm that allows the system to operate either back-to-back, or in a side-by-side configuration. One of the sides features a touch screen to allow customer’s involvement. This product can be used in consumer or service centers such as travel agencies, banks, point-of-sale retail, doctor’s office, etc… Display Solution, the company behind the project, also explains that it can also be used for education in order to save space (one monitor and one table for 2 students), or at home for dual player gaming.
The monitor can be operated in 2 modes:
- Clone (Mirror) Mode – The image on the primary monitor will duplicate on the second (“client”) monitor.
- Extended Mode – Extend the view to both monitors over USB and VGA / DVI adapter as configured under Windows.
Amazingly the company does not mention screen size (it could be because they provide custom solutions for companies only), but we can still manage to get some of the monitor’s features:
- Video Input – VGA and HDMI
- USB
- High-definition camera with 360° maneuverability
- Built-in microphone and speaker
- Windows 7 & Windows XP compatible
A “Drag and Drop” software application for Windows also provides selective cloning features that allows to only share one part of the screen.
You can watch the promo video to better understand the use case made possible by this solution.
Most of the functionalities U-See2 display bring can also be achieved with a cheap graphics card with VGA + HDMI output, and two monitors, but U-See2 display is more compact and flexible than the DIY solution.
I could not find availability nor pricing information for the display. You may find more information on U-See2 website. Display solution will be showcasing their products at Integrated Systems Europe Show, on 29-31 January 2013 in Amsterdam.

Seems more like a special hinge than a “2 sided display” but neat none the less 🙂
