YOOE, a Chinese manufacturer, has designed a new Android 4.0 (ICS) tablet with a 7″ 5-point capacitive touch screen (1024×600) for about 55 USD (Factory price MOQ: 1000). This tablet is powered by AllWinner A13 (Cortex A8) processor, a cut down version of the AllWinner A10 without HDMI output nor SATA.
This white brand tablet also features a 2,600 mAh battery which should last over 4 hours in typical usage and a front camera. The full specifications do not appear to be available right now.
You can watch the video below to have a look at the device whose performance seems acceptable.
Charbax also said the company expects the price to drop further to around 300 CNY (47 USD) by June 2012.
If you are an individual interested to buy this tablet close to factory price (excluding shipping), charbax organizes group buying on his blog, just leave a comment over there if you are interested.
[Update: I wonder if this could be the Onda Vi50]

Hopefully this Android 4.0 tablet will find its way to dealextreme. I just checked, and dealextreme has an Android 4.0 tablet for USD 106 (including tax & shipping).
For those interested, here’s an overview of Android tablets on DX: http://s.dx.com/search/android+tablet.html?sort=Price&category=1409&PageSize=100 The cheaper ones are useless: resistive screen and/or Android 2.x (or even lower).
@ Sander
I suppose it will be slightly over 100 USD (with shipping) once it is sold to DX, which is still a good price.
Just wait for Rockchip 30xx.
No news yet but it will be awesome.
AML8726-MX alredy out.
Allwinner A13 does not have a SATA interface either
It’s a sun5i target instead of a sun4i target for the AllWinner A10.
@ cnxsoft
I agree: the “55 USD” is probably in batches of 1000, and without tax and shipping. So that’s why I mentioned DX: they are quite well suited to distribute Chinese stuff to individuals all over the world.
Hi I am interested in buying two to four, please contact me….
@ Chris
I don’t handle the group buying, you need to make your request on armdevices.net link provided at the end of this blog post.
