AMD Embedded G-Series mini-PC, motherboard and thin client

AMD announced its embedded processor G-Series at CES 2011. Here are some products that will be soon available based on this platform.

Futjisu Mini-ITX mainboards – models D3003-S1 and D3003-S2

The D3003-S1 motherboard will feature an AMD Single-Core T44R (1.2GHz/9W) and the D3003-S2 an AMD Dual-Core T56N (1.6GHz/18W). Both models will have an onboard ATI graphics card with VGA, DVI, LVDS (D3003-S1 only) and diplayport  (D3003-S2 only) outputs, HD Audio,  dual GbE LAN, serial ATA III RAID, mSATA socket support, USB 2.0, 8 Bit GPIO connector and be designed for fanless operation.

Mass production of the boards will start in April 2011.

CompuLab’s fit-PC3 mini-PC

Compulab already manufactures the fit-PC2 and fit-PC2i based on the Intel Atom platforms running Linux, Windows XP and Windows 7. The Israel-based company  will embed AMD Embedded G-Series processor in its latest fit-PC3 mini-PC.

This “miniature fanless industrial PC” will come in several flavors (TBD) with the following features:

• APU: AMD G-T56N processor with AMD RadeonTM HD 6310 Graphics or AMD G-T40N processor with AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics
• Memory: Up to 4GB DDR3-1333 (2 SO-DIMM sockets)
• Display: Dual-head HDMI 1.3a + DisplayPort
• Audio: Digital 7.1 channels S/PDIF, stereo line-out, line-in, mic
• Storage: Internal 2.5” SATA 3 hard disk + 2 eSATA ports
• Networking: GbE + 802.11n WiFi
• I/O: 6 USB 2.0 ports
• Expansion: 2 mini-PCI express sockets + custom extension board
• Casing: Passively cooled die-cast aluminum 6.3” x 6.3” x 0.98” (16 x 16 x 2.5 cm)

No definite date has been given so far, but it will be available in 2011 from distributors and directly on fit-PC webstore.

Wyse Z90SW, Z90DW, Z90S7 and Z90D7 thin clients

Wyse has 4 thin clients running Windows Embedded based on the AMD Fusion G-Series platforms: Z90SW, Z90DW, Z90S7 and Z90D7 with the following specifications:

Models Z90SW and Z90DW are already available for purchase (no price publicly available, you need to call them), the Z90S7 and Z90D7 models will be available soon.

Amazingly, I can’t find the specs for each model, so I’m going to do some guessing here. I suppose S is for Single core and D for dual core and that W stands for Windows Embedded Standard 2009 and 7 for Windows Embedded Standard 7 which would give:

Other products  have also been announced recently such as Sintrones VBOX-3200, an In-Vehicle computer based on AMD G-T56N and BCM Embedded Computer IX55AE mini-ITX boards based on all G-Series processors except T52R. There may be more products to come, if the performance is great (I could not find any independent benchmarks) and the price is right (none of the companies above publicly announced  pricing of their products).
