SparkFun Thing Plus – RA6M5 board supports Bluetooth 5.1 LE through Renesas DA14531MOD module

SparkFun Thing Plus – RA6M5 is a small MCU board based on a 200 MHz Renesas RA6M5 Cortex-M33 microcontroller and a Renesas DA14531MOD Bluetooth 5.1 LE module that follows Adafruit Feather/Sparkfun Thing Plus form factor. The module can transmit data over BLE with just 4mA (at 3.3V) power consumption and the company claims the board to be powered by a coin-cell battery. A LiPo battery can also be connected to the board through a 2-pin JST battery connector, and the Things Plus – RA6M5 board also features a single-cell charger and LiPo fuel gauge. Some Raspberry Pi 5 boards can be overclocked up to 3.14 GHz (and run just fine)

The Raspberry Pi 5 is advertised as a single board computer with a CPU clocked up to 2.4 GHz, but some of the boards can run stably at a higher frequency, and Jeff Geerling found out one of his boards could be overclocked up to 3.14 GHz with no issues when running a stress test. The Raspberry Pi 5 already delivers a two to three-times jump in performance against the previous generation Raspberry Pi 4 SBC when clocked at 2.4 GHz, but some already overclocked their up to 3.0 GHz, and many thought it was the maximum limit. But a recent firmware release proved them wrong, as it turns out some Raspberry Pi 5 boards can boot at 3.2 GHz and run stably at 3.14 GHz with an adequate cooling solution. LuckFox Pico Pro and Pico Max – Rockchip RV1106 powered boards with 10/100M Ethernet and camera support

The LuckFox LuckFox Pico Pro and Pico Max are two new Rockchip RV1106-powered development boards that offer a Linux-based development platform for IoT applications. The boards feature 10/100M Ethernet, up to 256MB DDR2 memory, and a 0.5TOPS NPU for AI tasks. With support for Buildroot and Ubuntu 22.04, this board can be used for smart homes, remote monitoring, and other AI-enhanced projects. Waveshare ESP32-S3 4G dev boards feature LTE Cat-1, 2G, and camera support

Waveshare has recently launched two new ESP32-S3 4G dev boards – the ESP32-S3-SIM7670G-4G and the ESP32-S3-A7670E-4G. These boards support 4G LTE Cat-1, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS, and come with an OV2640 camera, and a battery holder for a 18650 battery. The main difference between the two is that the A7670E module also supports 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800MHz while the SIM7670G module does not. The board has two rows of I/Os including GPIO, I2C, SPI, ADC, and USB 2.0. It also has a USB-C port for power and programming, a slot for a MicroSD card, and an option to connect an external speaker. There’s a USB switching IC and DIP switch for easily connecting the module to a PC for internet or debugging. SparkFun Thing Plus – ESP32-C6 board comes with 16MB flash, LiPo battery support

SparkFun has launched yet another ESP32-C6 board with the “Thing Plus – ESP32-C6”  based on the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1-N16 module with 16MB flash and a PCB antenna and  range of I/Os and power options.
