ZOTAC is now showcasing their first Gemini Lake based mini PCs at CES 2018 with ZBOX PICO PI226 & PI336 models powered respectively by an Intel Celeron N4000 dual core processor, and Intel Celeron N4100 quad core processor. ZBOX ZBOX PICO PI226 The model is similar to ZOTAC PI225 reviewed by Linuxium a few weeks ago, and the company had to disable turbo mode in PI225 in order to keep temperature under control. The company placed it in the VESA mount for the event, and at first I though it may help with cooling, but Linuxium (see comments) tried with PI225, and heat dissipation was not improved. ZOTAC PI226 specifications: SoC – Intel Celeron N4000 dual core Gemini Lake processor up to 1.1/2.6 GHz with 12EU Intel UHD Graphics 600 @ up to 650 MHz; 6W TDP System Memory – 4GB LPDDR4 Storage – 32GB eMMC flash, micro SD card […]
Zotac ZBOX PI225 Review – SSD-Like Mini PC Tested with Windows 10 & Ubuntu
What makes the Zotac ZBOX PI225 so interesting is that this is the first true ‘card’ form-factor mini PC. It is a mini PC that looks like a SSD. Whilst Intel replaced the ‘stick’ form-factor with a similar ‘card’ form-factor for their next generation mini PCs they also required a ‘dock’ in order to use them. The difference with the PI225 however is that it actually is a standalone mini PC and includes all the necessary input/output ports. Intrigued by this new form-factor I decided to purchase one and the following is my review of its performance and capabilities. The Zotac ZBOX PI225 is a fanless device which features an Apollo Lake N3350 SoC with 32GB of storage pre-installed with Windows 10 Home, 4GB RAM, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, two USB Type-C ports, a micro SD card reader and a power connector. Importantly it comes with all the accessories you […]
Zotac PI225 Ultra Slim Apollo Lake Mini PC is Smaller than a 2.5″ SSD, About as Thick as a Smartphone
We’ve covered a large number of tiny mini PCs and TV sticks powered by Intel processors, but usually they are thicker than your smartphone because of USB, HDMI, and Ethernet ports if the latter is included. Zotac decided to leverage USB type C data and display capabilities to do away with USB & HDMI ports, and used a micro USB port for power in their latest Zotac PI225 mini PC resulting in an ultra thin (8mm) mini PC that is smaller than a 2.5″ SSD. Zotac PI225 mini PC specifications: SoC – Intel Celeron N3350 dual core “Apollo Lake” processor @ 1.1 / 2.4 GHz with 12 EU Intel HD Graphics 500 (6W TDP) System Memory – 4 GB LPDDR3 Storage – 32 GB eMMC flash, micro SDXC slot USB – 2x USB 3.0 type C connectors with data and DisplayPort support Connectivity – 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 Power […]
Zotac CI327 Nano Apollo Lake Fanless mini PC Features HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, and VGA Video Outputs
While many Apollo Lake mini PCs have been launched, few support 4K @ 60 Hz video output, but Zotac CI327 Nano mini PC does even better than that thanks to HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 outputs allowing for dual 4K UHD @ 60 Hz setups, and it also adds an extra VGA port to enable triple display setups. The rest of the specifications are not too bad either with three models CI327 Nano (windows / no windows) and CI327 Nano Plus with slightly different hardware specifications: SoC – Intel Celeron N3450 quad-core processor @ 1.1GHz / 2.2GHz with Intel HD Graphics 500 System Memory Nano with Windows and Nano PLUS – 4GB DDR3L (one slot occupied, up to 8GB) Nano – 2x 204-pin DDR3L-1866 SO-DIMM slots (up to 8GB) Storage – 1x 2.5″ SATA 6.0 Gbps SSD/HDD slot; 3-in-1 (SD/SDHC/SDXC); Nano with WINDOWS only: 32GB M.2 on-board SATA SSD Video […]
Zotac PI330 Cherry Trail mini PC Supports Dual Monitor Setups with HDMI and DisplayPort Outputs
Several low power Intel mini PCs coming out of Chinese manufacturers support dual monitor setups, but usually they combine HDMI and VGA with models such as Vorke V1 or MeLE PCG03. Zotac PI330 mini PC powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor offers instead dual independent display support via HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. Zotac PI330 hardware specifications: SoC – Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad core processor @ 1.44 GHz / 2.24 GHz) with 2M Cache and Intel Gen8 Graphics System Memory – 2GB LPDDR3 Storage – 32GB eMMC flash + micro SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader Video Output – DP1.1a, HDMI 1.4b Audio – DisplayPort, HDMI and 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack Connectivity – Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 USB – 1x USB 3.0 Type-C, 2x USB 3.0 port Misc – Power LED, Power Supply – 5V/3A Dimensions – 115 x 76 x 20.7 mm The fanless mini PC is pre-loaded with […]
Zotac ZBOX Pico T4 is an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 based mini PC
While there are plenty of mini PCs based on Intel Atom x5-Z8300 Cherry Trail processor on the market, it’s much more difficult to find more powerful Intel Atom x7 mini PCs, and the only option that I’m aware of is MagicStick Wave TV stick, but while the project was very successful in raising money on Kickstarter, they have not exactly delivered on their December 2015 shipping deadline, and instead shipping has been postpone to March 2016 for now. Luckily, there will be soon another option with Zotac ZBOX Pico T4 coupled with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, USB 3.0, 802.11ac WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, and more. ZBOX Pico T4 specifications: SoC – Intel Atom x7-Z8700 “Cherry Trail” quad core processor @ 1.60 GHz/2.40 GHz (turbo) with Intel Gen8 HD graphics @ 600MHz with 16EU. System Memory – 2 GB RAM Storage – 32 GB storage + micro SD slot Video Output – […]
ZOTAC ZBOX PI320 is a Pocket-Sized Intel Bay Trail-T Mini PC
If you’re a fan of HDMI TV sticks, but wished it could use an Intel processor, instead of the various ARM processors currently available, your dream may have come true thanks to ZOTAC ZBOC PI320 mini PC. Although it’s not quite as small as your standard HDMI TV stick, it’s small enough (115.5mm x 66mm x 19.2mm) to fit into your pocket, and it’s also much more powerful, as it features Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core Bay Trail-T processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB flash, wired and wireless connectivity and more. ZBOX PI320 pico-series mini PC specifications: SoC – Intel Atom Z3735F “Bay Trail” quad core processor @ 1.33 GHz (Burst freq up to 1.83 GHz) and Intel HD Graphics System Memory – 2GB DDR3L @ 1333 MHz (soldered) Storage – 32GB eMMC flash (soldered) + “3-in-1” card reader (micro SD/SDHC/SDXC) Connectivity – 10/100M Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11n + Bluetooth 4.0 (AP6383) Video Output […]
