Waveshare PoE HAT(F) is an 802.3af/at-compliant 24W Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) HAT+ board designed for the Raspberry Pi 5 that also cools the SBC with its embedded fan, a heatsink, and two thermal pads. The Chinese company has beaten Raspberry Pi to it as the UK company is working on releasing the L-shaped 25W “PoE+ HAT(+) for Raspberry Pi 5” a little later. The existing official Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT delivers up to 25.5 Watts which would be enough to power the Pi 5, but since the PoE header has been moved to another location, it’s not compatible anymore, so new solutions are needed such as the Waveshare PoE HAT(F). Waveshare PoE HAT(F) specifications: Supported SBC – Raspberry Pi 5 only Connected via 40-pin Raspberry Pi GPIO header and 4-pin PoE header PoE (Power Over Ethernet) IEEE 802.3af/at-compliant Input voltage – 37V-57V DC input Output 2-pin header – 12V/2A max GPIO header […]

Pi-Cast is a portable KVM switch based on Raspberry Pi CM4 (Crowdfunding)
The Pi-Cast KVM is a compact, open-source KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) over IP device based on the Raspberry Pi CM4. It is powered by PiKVM, an open-source IP-KVM solution, and allows you to control and manage other devices remotely regardless of the operating system or even if one isn’t installed. The Pi-Cast KVM is capable of controlling any device with HDMI and USB ports. It works for low-level access and enables BIOS and UEFI configuration without an operating system installed. You can turn off and start the target system, as well as check for low-level hardware problems, all from a web browser. The Pi-Cast KVM is similar to the PiKVM v3 but is built around the Raspberry Pi CM4 (like the PiKVM v4) instead of being a HAT for Raspberry Pi SBC. The company behind this device has compared the Pi-Cast with market alternatives such as PiKVM v4 Plus and […]
Azulle’s Byte4 – Customization at Its Finest With 3 Stellar Add-on Modules (Sponsored)
In the ever-evolving world of technology, we often find ourselves at a crossroads between power and flexibility. Striking the perfect balance can be a daunting task, but sometimes innovation comes along to redefine the game. Enter Azulle’s Byte4, a desktop mini PC that reimagines computing by seamlessly integrating three stellar add-on modules: Active Cooling, 4G LTE (AT&T Certified), and Power over Ethernet (POE). As a leading manufacturer of mini PCs and mini PC sticks, Azulle firmly believes that innovation should simplify our lives rather than complicate them. With that in mind, one of our flagship products, the Byte, embodies this philosophy in its modular design, allowing users to tailor their computing experience to their unique needs without the hassle of complicated setups. Active Cooling: A Shield Against the Heat Traditional cooling solutions often come at the cost of space and noise. Unlike the conventional cooling mechanisms that merely whisper their […]
LILYGO T-ETH-Lite – An ESP32-S3 board with Ethernet, optional PoE support
LILYGO T-ETH-Lite ESP32-S3 is a new ESP32-S3 WiFi and Bluetooth development board with a low-profile Ethernet RJ45 connector using a WIZnet W5500 Ethernet controller, supporting PoE with an extra shield, and also equipped with a microSD card socket and expansion I/Os. ESP32-based development boards with Ethernet have been around for years including LILYGO’s own “TTGO T-Lite W5500“, but so far we haven’t many based on the more recent ESP32-S3 microcontroller except for the SB Components’ ESPi board that we covered last April.
