Toshiba Electronics will unveil the BMSKTOPASM369, a new Starter Kit for ARM-Cortex M3 microcontrollers at Embedded World 2012. This devkit based on Toshiba TMPM369Fxxx Cortex M3 MCU which combines Ethernet, CAN and USB Host and Device connectivity in a single IC. Toshiba will also showcase new software tools that speed-up and optimize embedded designs for motor control applications. This development board features an integrated power supply and offers rapid prototyping and testing for applications ranging from industrial control systems and barcode readers to motion control, home appliances and solar inverters. The Started Kit is based on TMPM369Fxxx series 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 MCU running at 80MHz with up to 512KB flash and 128KB RAM. The 4 MCUs in this series also integrate the following: Single-channel CAN2.0B Full-speed USB Host controller Full-speed USB device controller 10/100BASE single-channel Ethernet MAC. 2x 12-bit ADCs suitable forbarcode readers and other applications requiring ultra-fast conversion. 2x […]
TI SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000 Brings WiFi Connectivity to All Devices
Yesterday, Texas Instruments unveiled the SimpleLink product family, a portfolio of wireless connectivity technologies for low-power, low-cost embedded applications, which includes self-contained wireless processors supporting Wi-Fi, ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, and ANT. The most noticeable product is the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3000, a self-contained 802.11 (WiFi) network processor, that can be added to any embedded application and provide WiFi connectivity to the Internet of Things. With this solution, you can add WiFi to any device, even those powered by MCUs without operating systems such as dishwashers, toasters, refrigerators, thermostats, and factory automation equipment. I wish they’ll make new version of the MSP430 Chronos Wireless Watch with WiFi connectivity, this would remove the need for the RF Dongle. This solution features TCP, UDP and IP software stacks in the chip, it consumes 0.5% of the resources as compared to traditional Wi-Fi and only requires 6KB Flash and 3KB RAM. The company claims it can be […]
ST Micro 15 USD STM32F4-Discovery Cortex-M Development Kit
ST Microelectonics promote their Cortex-M series at ARM Techcon 2011 and especially the new STM32F4 series the most powerful cortex M4 MCUs. They also showcase a low cost development board called STM32F4-Discovery that they give away at the exhibition and that can be bought online for 14.90USD from distributors. The evaluation board is based on the STM32F407VGT6 and includes an ST-LINK/V2 embedded debug tool, two ST MEMS, digital accelerometer and digital microphone, one audio DAC with integrated class D speaker driver, LEDs and push buttons and an USB OTG micro-AB connector. A large number of free ready-to-run application firmware examples are available in the STM32F4-Discovery board firmware package to support quick evaluation and development. Key Features of the Development kit: STM32F407VGT6 microcontroller featuring 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F core, 1 MB Flash, 192 KB RAM in an LQFP100 package On-board ST-LINK/V2 with selection mode switch to use the kit as a standalone ST-LINK/V2 […]
