Tiny solder-down NXP i.MX 93 System-on-Module powers credit card-sized evaluation board

Ka-Ro Electronics’ QS93 is a tiny solder-down NXP i.MX 93 System-on-Module (SoM) running Linux and designed for edge processing. The company also offers a credit card-sized evaluation board that may remind some of the Raspberry Pi with its GPIO header and general layout, but it comes with two Fast Ethernet ports and one USB 2.0 port. We’ve already covered several system-on-modules based on the NXP i.MX 93 Cortex-A55/M33 AI processor including some with high-density board-to-board connectors such as the Compulab UCM-IMX93 and Forlinx FET-MX9352-C, others with a SO-DIMM connector like the VAR-SOM-MX93, and finally some designed to be soldered on the carrier board such as the OSM-L compatible iW-RainboW-G50M, and the QS93 adds to the latter category in a tiny 27×27 mm form factor. AAEON EPIC-ADN9 SBC is powered by an Intel Processor N50/N97, Core i3-N305, or Atom x7425E Alder Lake N-series processor and equipped with up to four 2.5GbE networking ports and two SATA III ports for storage. MediaPipe for Raspberry Pi released – No-code/low-code on-device machine learning solutions

Google has just released MediaPipe Solutions for no-code/low-code on-device machine learning for the Raspberry Pi (and an iOS SDK) following the official release in May for Android, web, and Python, but it’s been years in the making as we first wrote about the MediaPipe project back in December 2019. The Raspberry Pi port is an update to the Python SDK and supports audio classification, face landmark detection, object detection, and various natural language processing tasks. Boardcon EM3568-AV CAM SBC is powered by a Rockchip RK3568 SoC and comes with four AHD (analog high-definition) camera connectors and two SATA 3.0 ports to store video data on hard drives. M.2/mini PCIe card adds DVB-S2X/S2 tuner to desktop PCs and (some) SBC’s

TBS has designed two small DVB-S2X/S2/S tuner cards with the TBS7230 M.2 module and TBS7901 mini PCIe module designed to easily add DTB support to a desktop PC or even a single board computer with the right interfaces. Both models are based on a Lattice Semi LFE3-17EA-6FTN256C FPGA and Montage LZ M88RS6060 single-chip DVB-S2X/S2/S receiver with a tuner, a demodulator, and an LNB controller, but as I understand it, the mPCIe module relies on a USB PCIe (see comments section) interface, while the M.2 module features a PCIe interface and you can even install more than one in a PC through a PCIe card for NVMe drives. Ultra-compact 45x43mm CPU module features TI Sitara AM6231, AM6252, or AM6254 Arm SoC

MYiR Tech has just announced the tiny, yet full-featured MYC-YM62X CPU module powered by Texas Instruments Sitara AM6231, AM6252, or AM6254 Cortex-A53/M4 processor for HMI and IoT applications as well as the corresponding MYD-YM62X development board used for evaluation. The new MYiR module joins other Texas Instruments AM62x system-on-modules such as Toradex Verdin AM62, Forlinx FET625x-C, Variscite VAR-SOM-AM62, and others, but at just 45x43mm, it is the smallest AM62x CPU module we’ve seen so far yet the company says it still provides access to all features from the processor thanks to its 222 castellated holes. ALFA Network HaLow-U – An 802.11ah WiFi HaLow USB adapter supporting AP and STA mode

ALFA Network HaLow-U is an 802.11ah WiFi HaLow USB adapter based on the Newracom NRC7292 chipset and NXP i.MX 6 processor that works both in access point (AP) and client (STA) modes. It delivers long-range WiFi up to one kilometer in the 900 MHz frequency ISM bands and is mostly useful for IP cameras and high-end sensors. The ecosystem around WiFi HaLow (802.11ah) is expanding slowly, but surely, and we previously covered a mini PCIe card, a WiFi HaLow development board, and a gateway kit to extend the range of IP cameras, and also ALFA Network’s AHPI7292S Raspberry Pi HAT that found its way into RAKWireless WisGate Connect gateway.
