DevTerm modular Linux terminal gets a RISC-V module compatible with Raspberry Pi CM3

ClockworkPi DevTerm retro-looking modular portable Linux computer has gotten a 64-bit RISC-V module based on Allwinner D1 1GHz SoC and offers an alternative to existing Arm-based modules such as Raspberry Pi CM3, or alternatives powered by Allwinner H6 or Rockchip RK3399 SoC’s. As expected, Pine64 has now unveiled its own Rockchip RK3588 SBC with the QuartzPro64, joining many others from Radxa to Banana Pi, and lesser-known companies such as Mixtile and Mekotronics. 802.11ah WiFi HaLow development board launched for $99 (Crowdfunding)

When 802.11.ah WiFi operating in the 900 MHz frequency range for low-power long-range communication was announced in 2014, then named WiFi HaLow in 2016, I naively assumed it would soon compete against other LPWAN standards like LoRaWAN or Sigfox. However, over the next few years, we did not see much interest in the wireless standard. Pockit modular Linux computer gets a Raspberry Pi CM4 upgrade

We first wrote about the Pockit modular Linux computer with hot-plugging magnetic blocks about a year ago. The system was based on a STM32+ESP32 mainboard with a socket for an optional Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 and included magnets and electrical contacts to snap and hot-plug modules/blocks while the computer is running. The developer (Anil Reddy) has made good progress with the project and added the option to use a Raspberry Pi CM4 with Pockit (provided you can find one) to improve performance, for example for computer vision. Other changes include support for AI accelerators, an improved dashboard, home automation integration, and more. Pockit now supports over 80 feature BLOCKS ranging from a rotary encoder to a microSD card reader to various camera types, an HDMI block, AI accelerators, and so on.
