AAEON NanoCOM-ADN is a compact (84 x 55mm) COM Express Type 10 module based on Intel Alder Lake-N SoCs, namely Processor N50/N97, Atom x7425E, or Core i3-N305 that adds another option to the SMARC, Qseven, and COM Express Type 6 modules offered by the company with the same processors. The NanoCOM-ADN computer-on-module features up to 16GB LPDDR5x soldered-on memory, up to 64GB eMMC flash, and two Intel i226-V 2.5GbE controllers. Its standard 220-pin COM Express board-to-board connector exposes two SATA interfaces, four PCIe Gen3 x1 interfaces, DDI and LVDS video outputs, eight USB interfaces, and more. The Orange Pi CM5 was launched as an alternative to Raspberry Pi CM4/CM5 last July with a Rockchip RK3588S octa-core Cortex-A76/A55 SoC, up to 16GB LPDDR4x, 256GB eMMC flash, and three board-to-board connectors maintaining partially compatibility with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. At the time, Orange Pi also introduced the Orange Pi CM5 Base Board with HDMI 2.1, one Gigabit Ethernet port, two 2.5GbE ports, USB 3.0/2.0 ports, four camera connectors, and more. The company has now launched the Orange Pi CM5 “Tablet” Base Board without Ethernet ports, making use of WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 for networking instead. Mekotronics R58-HD-1U is a digital signage player with 12 independent HDMI outputs implemented through three Rockchip RK3588 SoCs, housed in a 1U standard chassis, and mostly designed for video walls and other applications where multiple displays are close to each other. M5Stack has recently launched the M5Stack ATOMIC Display Base, an HDMI display driver designed to emulate traditional SPI TFT-LCD data output using Gowin GW1NR-9C FPGA and a built-in LT8618SX RGB-to-HDMI chip and designed to work with the company’s Atom IoT controller family based on ESP32 wireless microcontrollers. The module supports up to 720p (1280×720) image output with a 24-bit color depth and has an average frame rate of 12–16 FPS. Additionally, it can be paired with ATOM series hosts for various memory and application needs. These features make this compact device suitable for industrial control displays, smart home information screens, educational and conference presentations, and remote monitoring displays.
