In 2019, we wrote that Cypress PSoC 64 microcontrollers for Secure IoT applications was one of the first microcontrollers compliant with Arm’s Platform Security Architecture (PSA) designed to secure the Internet of Things. Arrow has now launched the PSoC 64 IoT Security Workshop Development Kit, its first PSA Certified platform, which happens to be based on Cypress PSoC 64, and developed in collaboration with Infineon who purchased Cypress Semiconductor last year. Designed to help developers quickly create PSA Certified solutions, the development kit includes the Infineon PSoC 64 Secure AWS IoT Pioneer Kit, Arrow PSoC 6 IoT Sensor Shield, Shield2Go kits, and AWS cloud enablement with certified functional APIs and integrated dashboard for monitoring and visualization. There are three levels for PSA certification: level 1 for device manufacturers involves the evaluation of an IoT device to assess whether it adheres to security best practice, level 2 with a laboratory evaluation […]
Arrow Chameleon96 Arm + Cyclone V FPGA Board Sold for $32 (Promo)
First introduced in 2017, Arrow Chameleon96 96Boards SBC comes with an Intel / Altera Cyclone V SE SoC featuring a dual-core Arm Cortex A9 processor clocked at up to 800 MHz and FPGA fabric with 110K Logic Elements. It used to sell for $129, but Arrow & appears to have a promotion now where the Novtech board sells for just $31.34 with free shipping[Update: all available boards are gone, and the product is now out of stock]. It looks like a good opportunity for people interested in playing around with an Arm Linux FPGA platform. Here’s a reminder of Chameleon96 board specifications which the company shamelessly copied from CNX Software: SoC – Intel PSG / Altera Cyclone V SE 5CSEBA6U19I7N with a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor @ up to 800 MHz and FPGA fabric with 110K Logic Elements Chips, Ports, and Features connected to FPGA: Integrated USB-Blaster II JTAG […]
Arrow Shield96 Arm Linux Board Focuses on Hardware-based Security

Arduino Compatible ASME TIGER Board Supports Thread on NXP Kinetis KW41Z WiSoC
The new Arrow ASME Tiger board is the latest addition to the ASME line up, with an eye towards IoT hardware prototyping. The board carries two MCUs for different types of development depending on the operators need. The board is Thread and WiFi ready, and the Tiger is also Arduino compatible. The MCU’s are as follows: The ATSAMD21J18A-64 Ultra-low-power microcontroller using the 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ processor. The WiSoC is the KW41Z which is an ultra-low-power, highly integrated single-chip device that enables Bluetooth® low energy (BLE) v4.2 and IEEE® 802.15.4 RF connectivity for portable, extremely low-power embedded systems. The working unit is for very low power applications. The integrated balun reduces system cost and board area, and the sensors are plentiful and easy to access. You’ll find a user guide (PDF), as well a bootloader and sample code on Github. Specifications for the SMART SAMD21 Memory 256KB in-system self-programmable Flash 8KB […]
