10.3″ E-paper HDMI Display Connects to Raspberry Pi & Jetson Nano SBC’s, Computers

E-paper displays only consume power when updated, work great in bright light, and are easier on eyes when reading text. The downside is the low refresh rate which makes those impractical for videos and games, and most E-paper displays are black and white or with just a few colors. Another hindrance is that most are connected via flat cables for specific display interfaces which may not be the easiest to handle, and you may not be able to easily move the display across platforms if you wish too. GOLE F7 is a waterproof, shock resistant, rugged tablet running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I’ve now spent more time with the tablet and tested some of the features such as Barcode scanner and NFC reader. Last summer, Google released the Local Home SDK developer preview which allows developers to run actions and use resources on the local device rather than in the Cloud for lower latency. One company that updated its devices is Yeelight whose WiFi smart lights have now been enhanced with the Google Local Home SDK helping deliver a latency of less than 0.3 seconds, so you don’t need to wait after your voice command has been processed by Google Assistant. Reolink Argus PT Review – A Solar powered Pan-Tilt Security Camera

Last year, I reviewed Reolink Argus Eco solar powered security camera, and I’m still using it to date. It’s working fairly well, although sometimes motion detection will not be triggered, or triggered too slowly so it’s not impossible to miss important footage. The PIR function can be tweaked so maybe it’s just a question of finding the right settings for a given location. Nevertheless, the company has now launched a new model called Reolinkg Argus PT that is very similar to the Argus Ego but with PT (Pan, Tilt) function, and I received a sample for review. Since both models are so similar, I recommend reading Argus Eco review first, as I’ll focus on the differences. The Things Conference is taking place now until January 31, so we should expect a few LoRaWAN announcements, and yesterday we covered Semtech LLCC68 LoRa transceiver for smart home applications, but the company also introduced a LoRa asset tracking reference kit to ease the deployment and evaluation of LoRa based tracking solutions. The kit is comprised of one LoRaWAN gateway, and six waterproof trackers with GPS and LoRa connectivity which everything supposed to work out of the box. The gateway, as shown above, comes with LoRa, cellular and GPS antennas, as well as a PoE power supply. It ships with a pre-configured SIM card to connect to the cloud platform over 3G/4G.
