Intel N100 & N200 Alder Lake-N SKUs could be the first “Intel Processor” processors

Intel N100 N200 Alder Lake-N processors

Intel recently announced they would kill the Celeron and Pentium brands for entry-level PCs, and replace these with the “Intel Processor” brand for notebooks from 2023 onwards, meaning we would get “Intel Core” and “Intel Processor” processors depending on the market segment. The Intel N100 & N200, or more exactly the Intel Processor N100 and Processor N200, Alder Lake-N SKUs may be the first chips with the new branding. They were discovered by Coelacanth-Dream while looking at some Linux boot logs. Intel Processor N100:

Intel Processor N200:

Both processors appear pretty similar but the boot logs show the N100 with an 800 MHz base frequency, and the N200 with a 1,000 MHz base frequency. Coelacanth-Dream further analyzed the data and found extra information about the Alder Lake-N processors as shown in the table below.   The new SKUs will not feature “big” Performance cores at all, and only […]

MeLE Quieter HD3Q Review – A fanless mini PC with dual-channel memory, 2.5-inch SATA bay

MeLE Quieter HD3Q review

MeLE has launched a new range of passive mini PCs known as the ‘Quieter HD Series’ and first in the lineup is the Quieter HD3Q. Not only does this new mini PC address the main criticism of their earlier models by now including dual-channel memory, but it is also slightly larger allowing the ability to add a 2.5” SATA drive, and also has a higher power limit to improve performance. MeLE kindly sent one for review and I’ve looked at performance running both Windows and Ubuntu. MeLE Quieter HD3Q hardware overview The MeLE Quieter HD3Q consists of a 150 x 105 x 37mm (5.91 x 4.13 x 1.46 inches) rectangular plastic case with a metal base plate. Gone are the faux heat spreader fins from the top of the case as it is now finished with a very fine dimple effect. As a passively cooled mini PC, it uses Intel’s […]

GENE-ADP6 – An 3.5-inch SBC with Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake-P processor, DDR5 RAM

3.5-inch Alder Lake-P SBC

AAEON GENE-ADP6 is a 3.5-inch SBC equipped with a choice of Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake-P (and Alder Lake-U) processors and the first from the company to support DDR5 memory, of which up to 64GB can be installed through two SO-DIMM sockets. The single board computer also supports SATA and NVMe storage, up to two 8K displays (and up to four independent displays), 2.5GbE networking, USB 3.2 ports, four RS232/RS422/RS485 interfaces, and further expansion through three M.2 sockets for wireless connectivity (WiFi, 5Gm, 4G LTE…) as well as the already mentioned NVMe SSD storage. GENE-ADP6 SBC specifications: Intel Alder Lake-P SoC (one or the other) Core i7-1270PE 12-core/16-thread processor @ 3.30GHz / 4.50GHz (Turbo) with 96EU Intel Xe graphics – PBP: 28W, up to 64W MTP Core i7-1265UE 10-core/12-thread processor @ 3.50GHz / 4.70GHz (Turbo) with 96EU Intel Xe graphics – PBP: 15W, up 55W MTP Core i5-1250PE 12-core/16-thread processor […]

Odyssey Blue mini PC bundle ships with Frigate open-source NVR, Coral USB AI accelerator

Frigate NVR Odyssey Blue mini PC

Odyssey Blue mini PC based on the ODYSSEY-X86J4125 SBC is now offered as part of a bundle with Frigate open-source NVR platform with support for real-time local object detection, and an Coral USB AI accelerator. The Odyssey Blue mini PC is equipped with an Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core Gemini Lake Refresh processor, 8GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD preloaded with an unnamed Linux OS (probably Debian 11) and Frigate Docker container. The solution can run over object detection at 100+ FPS when equipped with a Coral USB accelerator. Since the hardware is not exactly new, and we’ve covered it in detail in the past, even reviewing the earlier generation SBC with Celeron J4105 processor and Re_Computer enclosure, I’ll focus on the software, namely Frigate NVR in this post. Frigate is an open-source NVR program designed for Home Assistant with AI-powered object detection that runs as a Docker container and uses […]

MeLE Quieter3C fanless mini PC review with Ubuntu 22.04, Windows 11

Mele Quieter3c review

MeLE’s newly launched Quieter3C is an update to their earlier Quieter3Q product which replaces one of the Type-A USB ports with a Type-C USB port and includes both power delivery and video display output, together with changing one of the HDMI ports to a mini DisplayPort. MeLE kindly sent one for review and given these are the only differences I’m only going to take a cursory look at performance benchmarks together with looking at these new features. MeLE Quieter3C hardware overview The MeLE Quieter3C is physically the same size as the Quieter3Q and consists of a 131 x 81 x 18.3mm (5.16 x 3.19 x 0.72 inches) rectangular plastic case with a metal base plate. The top half of the case has the characteristic fine grooves that mimic the fins of a heat spreader and is made of plastic rather than metal to allow reception to the WiFi antennas as […]
