Beelink GTi11 Review – Part 1: Tiger Lake mini PC with Windows 11

Beelink GTI11 review

Beelink’s GTi11 is the latest offering in their ‘GT’ series of slightly larger mini PCs that are notable for expandable storage configurations together with multiple ports and characterized by including a fingerprint scanner. Featuring Intel’s 11th generation Tiger Lake processors, Beelink kindly sent an i5 version for review which I will undertake in three parts. In this first part, I’ve looked at Windows performance and the second part will cover Ubuntu with the third part looking at various configuration mods. Beelink GTi11 Hardware Overview The GTi11 physically consists of a 168 x 120 x 39mm (6.61 x 4.72 x 1.54 inches) rectangular metal case. As an actively cooled mini PC, it uses Intel’s ‘10 nm SuperFin’ Tiger Lake processors and the review model included an i5-1135G7 which is a quad-core 8-thread 2.50 GHz Core processor boosting to 4.20 GHz with Intel’s Xe Graphics. The front panel has an illuminated power […]

Beelink GTI 11 Tiger Lake mini PC offers triple display output, dual 2.5GbE

Tiger Lake Mini PC dual 2.5GbE HDMI, DisplayPort

Beelink GTI 11 mini PC is offered with either Intel Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 Tiger Lake processor, coupled with 16GB or 32GB DDR4, a 500 GB NVMe SSD, and provides triple display support via HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C interfaces, two 2.5GbE ports, and more. Beelink first teased the board in June with an upcoming crowdfunding campaign that never happened, but the Tiger Lake mini PC is now available on Banggood for $609.99 (Core i5, 16GB RAM) and $819.99 (Core i7, 32GB RAM). Note those are promotional prices valid until December 28, and initially, I was shown $809.99 and $1,089.99 respectively with an address in Thailand. Switching to a US address lowered the price, so the promotion depends on the warehouse, and YMMV. Beelink GTI 11 mini PC specifications: Tiger Lake SoC (one or the other) Intel Core i5-1135G7 quad-core/8-thread processor @ up to 2.4GHz / 4.2GHz (Turbo) with 8MB […]

WinX DVD Ripper Platinum supports Level-3 hardware acceleration (Sponsored)

Winx DVD Ripper Platinum

While it’s possible to tip DVDs without compression, doing so takes a lot of storage space, so most people will transcode DVD to MP4 or other video formats. One program that can help is WinX DVD Ripper that will convert an ISO image or rip a DVD to MP4 with H.264 or HEVC codec, AVI, WMV, FLV, MOV, MPEG, etc…, to save the file a hard drive or NAS, and let you watch it on a computer, HDTV, Android, iPhone, iPad, Xbox One S, PS4/5, etc… WinX DVD Ripper is a free program that works in Windows 10/11 or Mac OS, with a premium version called WinX DVD Ripper Platinum that relies on Level-3 hardware acceleration leveraging NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel GPU acceleration to slash encoding time, as well as support recovery for scratch optical media, 99-title DVDs, and provide editing features. The cheapest Jasper Lake mini PC so far: JK01 for $140 and up

Cheap Jasper Lake Mini PC

Intel Jasper Lake N-Series Celeron and Pentium processors were formally introduced at the beginning of the year as the successors of the Gemini Lake (Refresh) processors, and we’ve seen several mini PCs and motherboards so far from lesser-known Chinese manufacturers to more established brands like ASUS, GIGABYTE, and ECS. The previous generation Gemini Lake mini PCs would usually sell around $150 to $200, but now with the JK01 barebone computer, we’ve got an inexpensive Intel Celeron N5095 Jasper Lake mini PC selling for about $141 including shipping. CYX JK01 mini PC specifications: SoC – Intel Celeron N5095 quad-core Jasper Lake  processor @ 2.0GHz /  2.9GHz (Turbo) with 4MB cache, 16EU Intel UHD Graphics; 15W TDP System Memory – 2x SO-DIMM slots for up to 16GB DDR4 memory Storage – M.2 2280 socket for NVMe or SATA SSD, 2.5-inch SATA drive bay, MicroSD card socket Video Output – 1x HDMI 2.0 […]

Download a free trial of the SoftNeuro Deep Learning SDK for Intel and Arm targets (Sponsored)

Jetson Xavier Tensorflow Lite vs SoftNeuro

Morpho, a global research & development company established in Japan in 2004 and specialized in imaging technology, is now offering a free trial for the SoftNeuro deep learning SDK working on Intel processors with AVX2 SIMD extensions, 64-bit Arm targets, while also leveraging OpenCL and/or CUDA. Some of the advantages of SoftNeuro are that the framework is easy to use even for those without any knowledge about deep learning, it’s fast thanks to the separation of the layers and their execution patterns, and it can run on several different hardware and OS being cross-platform. SoftNeuro relies on its own storage format (DNN format) to deliver the above advantages. But you can still use models trained with any mainstream deep learning framework. TensorFlow and Keras models can be directly converted to the DNN format, while models from other frameworks can be converted first to the ONNX format and then to the […]
