Low-cost Amlogic S905L2 TV Boxes Show Up on Aliexpress for $20+

Amlogic has plenty of variants to its S905 processors, and so far I had never heard about Amlogic S905L2 processor that can be found in some Android 9.0 TV boxes sold for a little over $20 including shipping. [Update: I’ve been informed people are not getting boxes with S905L2, but just S905L, nor the advertised amount of memory or storage, notably from Shop5779464] There are only two such TV boxes listed with the quad-core Cortex-A53 processor so far, and they are basically the same X7 model except for different storage and memory configuration. Banana Pi BPI-M5 is an Amlogic S905X3 SBC following the Raspberry Pi form factor, and that is pretty similar to Hardkernel ODROID-C4 launched earlier this year with the same quad-core Cortex-A55 processor. Allwinner T-series processors are designed for transportation applications such as automotive infotainment systems, smart rear-view mirrors, and navigation systems. Android 11 Release – People-centric Communication and “Pixel-First” Features

Six months have passed since Android 11 developer preview was released in February and at the time we noted enhancements for foldables and 5G, new call-screening APIs, new media & camera capabilities including animated HEIF support, as well as machine learning improvements. Google has now officially released Android 11 that is currently rolling out to select Google Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Realme phones. A little over a few ago, we reported companies like Xiaomi and Oppo were working on under-display cameras to remove the notch on smartphones. This works by having the phone display a black bar (that means transparent) above the camera while taking a photo, and reverting to normal display once the photo is taken or video is shot. At the time, picture quality left to be desired, so more work was needed, but the first phone with an under-display camera is now available for ZTE Axon 20 5G selling for 2,198 RMB (~$322) and up in China. Testing Hercules OTT Realtek RTD1395 4K Android STB Development Board
