Run Windows 7 (or Any OS) on Android Tablets with PCoIP Protocol

Teradici has developed PCoIP (PC-over-IP) protocol, a technology that allows to run a full desktop remotely over the network on thin clients, desktops, integrated displays, laptops and even Android tablets. The PCoIP protocol compresses, encrypts and encodes the entire computing experience at the data center and transmits it ‘pixels only’ across any standard IP network to stateless PCoIP zero clients. The PCoIP protocol is implemented in silicon for hardware accelerated performance and in software in VMware View. It supports high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics and HD media, multiple large displays, full USB peripheral connectivity, and high definition audio all via LAN or WAN networks. Penandfree PT- Pen Transforms Your Laptop into A Tablet

Penandfree has unveiled the PT-pen (Presentation pen) at the 2012 ISE exhibition. The company claims this pen can transform ordinary laptops or netbooks into touch-screen tablets, replacing the need for both a mouse and keyboard. PT-Pen can be used for capturing handwritten notes, digital signatures and all sorts of creative sketches. MINT Interactive software is included with the PT-pen and provides access to a full color pallet, a variety of line thicknesses, a virtual keyboard and a handwriting recognition mode. Penandfree explains that PT-pen allows navigation in web browsers and can be used with office software such as Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint as it conforms with Microsoft tablet and standard HID specifications. Archos Gen8 Firmware Version 2.4.82 Released

Archos has released a new firmware for Archos 28/32/35/43/70/101 internet tablets (Generation 8). This is a bug fix version, no Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) here. SPDY Aims to Make the Web Faster and Replace HTTP

SPDY (pronounce “SPeeDY”) is a new protocol designed by Google that aims at making the web faster and eventually replace HTTP. This new protocol is not a new scheme, so it would be transparent to the user and there would not be a new spdy:// prefix and we would still be using http://. It will always be secure and use tcp port 443 instead of 80 (because of transparent proxies messing up with packets). Most of Google products such as Chrome, Android Honeycomb (They can’t say if ICS is using SPDY…) devices and Google’s servers have already using SPDY protocol for some time, and Google reports some encouraging results. App Inventor for Android is Now Open Source

Android App Inventor has been phased out by Google some weeks ago. But it is not dead yet, as Google made it open source and it is hosted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The developers of App Inventor said they won’t be accepting contributions to the source code for now, but they plan to accept other developers contribution once the project is “complete and deployed to a large-scale public server”. App Inventor is a tool that allows non-programmer to design applications for Android via a web-based interface for designing Android apps without the need to get into Java programming with the Android software development kit. The projct is being transfered between Google and MIT, and you won’t be able to use App Inventor at the moment. Idolian has just announced the IdolPad Tablet, an Android 2.3 (gingerbread) Tablet featuring a 7″ multitouch resistive touchscreen and powered by an unnamed ARM cortex A9 processor @ 1Ghz (I guess this is the AmLogic 8726) with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB Flash.
