25-45W Intel Tiger Lake-H Xeon, Core, and Celeron embedded processors coming soon

While doing some research, I noticed an Intel Core i7-11850HE “Tiger Lake-H” processor on the OpenVino Toolkit website. Parts that end with “E” are usually processors designed for the embedded market.

I had never heard about the Tiger Lake-H embedded family, so I looked for “i7-11850HE” processor, and it’s not in Intel Ark, or much anywhere else except on a page in Google Cache, about a COM-HPC module “with the 11th Gen Intel® Xeon® W-11000E Series, Core™ vPro® and Celeron® processors (formerly Tiger Lake-H) for FuSa application”.

There we have a list of Xeon, Core, and Celeron 11th generation processors that I don’t think have ever been announced:

  • Intel Celeron 6600HE dual-core processor @ 2.6GHz with 8MB L3 Cache, 35W TDP
  • Intel Core i3-11100HE processor with 4 cores / 8 threads @ 2.4GHz (up to 4.4GHz in Turbo Boost) with 8MB L3 Cache, 45/35W cTDP
  • Intel Core vPRO i5-11500HE processor with 6 cores / 12 threads @ 2.6GHz (up to 4.5GHz in Turbo Boost), 12MB L3 Cache, 45/35W cTDP
  • Intel Core vPRO i7-11850HE processor with 8 cores / 16 threads @ 2.6GHz (up to 4.7GHz in Turbo Boost), 24MB Cache L3, 45/35W cTDP
  • Intel Xeon W-11155MRE processor with 4 cores / 8 threads @ 2.4GHz (up to 4.4GHz in Turbo Boost), 8MB L3 Cache, with ECC and TCC/TSN, 45/35W cTDP – Industrial (w/ Turbo OFF)
  • Intel Xeon W-11155MLE processor with 4 cores / 8 threads @ 1.8GHz (up to 3.1GHz in Turbo Boost), 24MB L3 Cache, with ECC and TCC/TSN, 25W TDP
  • Intel Xeon vPRO W-11555MRE processor with 6 cores / 12 threads @ 2.6GHz (up to 4.5GHz in Turbo Boost), 12MB L3 Cache, with ECC, TCC/TSN and Functional Safety (FuSa), 45/35W cTDP – Industrial (w/ Turbo OFF)
  •  Intel Xeon vPRO W-11555MLE processor with 6 cores / 12 threads @ 1.9GHz (up to 4.4GHz in Turbo Boost), 24MB L3 Cache, with ECC and TCC/TSN, 25W TDP
  • Intel Xeon vPRO W-11865MRE processor with 8 cores / 16 threads @ 2.6GHz (up to 4.7GHz in Turbo Boost), 24MB L3 Cache, with ECC, TCC/TSN and Functional Safety (FuSa), 45/35W cTDP – Industrial (w/ Turbo OFF)
  • Intel Xeon vPRO W-11865MLE processor with 8 cores / 16 threads @ 1.5GHz (up to 4.5GHz in Turbo Boost), 24MB L3 Cache, with ECC and TCC/TSN, 25W TDP

There are not that many Intel Xeon processors specifically designed for the embedded market, and a quick search shows Tiger Lake-H chips may be the first Intel Xeon processors with features like FuSa or TSN already found in Intel Atom x6000E series.

Wow, I wonder why a 35W TDP for a Dual-Core Celeron clocked at 2.6Ghz, I think that is overkill, if we assume those CPU’s are made with 10nm fab

Only dual core, so both have to work harder!

Also, if they are Tiger Lake cores they’ll use more power than Gracemont, i.e. what is typically branded ‘Celeron’.

I guess there is a slight mistake in the description also on the cached page. Xeons — all will probably support normal UDIMM ECC RAMs and not only in-band ECC.
