togetho.ru is a an online community that organizes group buys for interesting gadgets, and one reader informed me they already did successful group buying for mobile devices such as Hyundai A7HD, SmartQ Ten3, and Freelander PD10 tablets and ThL V9 smartphone.
They now opened group-buying subscription for CX-01 Android 4.0 mini PC powered by a dual core Cortex A5 processor (Telechips TCC8923) and plan to offer the device for $39.99 including international shipping via China Mail. It’s also possible to upgrade to Hong Kong Post or other shipping methods. You do not actually buy via togetho.ru, but you just need to register an email address, and if there is enough demand, they will be able to send a coupon to your email so that you can use it in Pandawill.
The CX-01 HDMI stick should have performance similar to MK802 based on Antutu benchmarks for devices built around TCC8923, especially for tasks that can make use of multi cores. At 52.99 USD, I found the price to be just right, with the only major drawback being the lack of microSD card slot. So at 39.99 USD I had to register.
The offer is available on http://togetho.ru/cx01.html. The site is only available in Russian, but in the meantime, you can check the English translation (via google translate), and I’ve been told they would setup a proper English version soon. The English page is now available: http://www.togetho.ru/cx01eng.html.
I have never used that website, so I cannot formally recommend it, but it’s definitely worth a try.

Hello everybody!
Thank you for your support!
Here is English version of subscription page – http://www.togetho.ru/cx01eng.html
But it can be expanded with for example pendrives, right?
@ Emoryy
It can be expanded, but you need a USB Hub, and possibly a powered USB hub since this stick is powered by the TV USB port.
Hello !
Do you think that we can hope a futur linux support of this device ?
registered 🙂
@cnx you are right. Lack of microsd slot is hard to ignore. But $40 is very tempting so… :p
@cnx I found a tabular comparison chart of Chinese al-cheapo processor’s.
It’ll will be great if you make a shared xls or somthing similar and expand it further enlisting more processors alongwith your parameter specific notes.
looks like it’s in Hungarian language, but you’ll figure it out the information.
here is a comparasion:

@ max
I could make a page for that but it takes a bit of time to do and maintain.
RhomBus Tech has some kind of CPU list (http://rhombus-tech.net/evaluated_cpus/ ), which may not be as detailed as you may have liked but still interesting.
@ Davy
It might be possible to hack it using the existing u-boot and kernel binaries, and replacing Android rootfs by Ubuntu or another distro.
Apparently, it’s quite difficult to get Telechips or their customers to release GPL source code, so it may take a long time to get the kernel source code, and if think they’d only release the GPL part. So I doubt I will be well supported like for the A10.
@Jean-Luc Aufranc (CNXSoft) Thanks, Nice list. But the fun is when especially the Chinese al-cheapo’s are compared side by side. Like most left hand side column start with latest and most right side column goes towards older cousins. amlogic 8276 m6> rockchip3066 and so on… I know the initial (first time) compilation would certainly take some time. But after that updating should be very easy and simple. I mean processor’s are not releasing everyday, Once a month an update cycle can be completed in just few minutes. And this can give your blog some serious hits as there is none… Read more »
We already have minimum required subscribers and now we only wait when Pandawill will get batch of CX-01 (they promised to get it on next week).
Also we opened group-buy subscription for upgraded version of Riko MK802 miniPC with 1GB RAM – only $69.99 including HongKong Post shipping ($64.99 if you will use $5 discount coupon for Aliexpress). We plan to buy it on next week. Details here – http://togetho.ru/rikomk802eng.html
DX has these now for $51 including shipping.
Ah, nevermind, didn’t see the last comment was talking about the 802
Look closely at the 10 th image below in #4 post from pandawillforum.com. The photo shows a string: TCC8925_HDMI_DONGLE
No mention of TCC8923 🙂
@ Different
I’ve decided to buy one, so I’ll be able tell you when I receive it.
I’ve finally ordered it for $41.89 with Singapore post.
It seems when paying via Paypal you can not add some comments/instructions during order, so you have to email them if you have some specific requirements.
