The first thing you notice with Tbee TV box is the beehives inspired hexagonal enclosure, as we’ve already seen with T95Z Plus TV box, but the features that really stand out are voice command, and especially gesture control thanks to the built-in microphone and camera.

The box ships with an air mouse with QWERTY keyboard and its RF dongle, a HDMI cable, a power adapter, a micro USB cable, a stand, and a quick start guide. The box runs Android 4.4 with a launcher inspired from beehives. There’s no mention of what the HDMI input does, and it could just be a pass-through input to connect a set-top box.
The demo video shows the user interface, apps support, voice command, and gesture control capabilities.
The device is intriguing enough to make you want to purchase the box on Tbee website, until of course, you click on the buy button and discover the “promotional price” of 199 Euros inc. VAT with free shipping to Portugal, and 20 Euros shipping to Europe.

Gesture control looks interesting but 720p camera…. not sure how good that will work in real life. My oppinion, way too expensive for S812 SoC and for that price they could at least put little effort and prepare Lollipop firmware for it instead of KitKat (notice on screen keyboard in video).
The 812 is a gangsta!
I agree lollipop should of been min installed on the device, at least they made an effort with nice launcher than the crappy one that you normally see these days, but the price ouch no thanks it won’t be long before we see similar boxes with s912 and much lower price
I am wondering is there any STB support Google now with voice recognition? With the help of voice recognition, it is similar with Android TV OS and only few key press is required!
@Lex
I think it’s already working. Take something like MeLE F10 Pro air mouse with microphone -> http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/06/13/mele-f10-pro-fly-mouse-comes-with-microphone-and-speaker/ or another microphone, install Google app, and you should be able to use “OK Google”.
Thanks, cnxsoft, I will try it!
