There has been a few 96Boards announced so far, and a Banana Pi96 could soon be launched, as LeMarker has just joined the Linaro Community Board Group, but so far the board that generated the most buzz was Qualcomm Dragonboard 410c, but at the time pricing was not officially disclosed, although a $75 target price was posted in several blogs. And now it seems Qualcomm 64-bit ARM board indeed costs $75, as it is listed for that price on Arrow Electronics website with a few pieces in stock.
Dragonboard 410c specifications have also been further detailed:
- SoC- Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (APQ8016) quad-core ARM CortexA53 @ 1.2 GHz with Adreno 306 GPU @ 400MHz

Sure, the price is not that bad but I want 2 GB of RAM and more MHz on those cores for which I’m of course willing to pay more.
What’s the benefit of a 64 bits platform with less than 4 GB RAM ? (it’s not only useless, I guess it must also have an impact on performance as 64 bits pointers mean more cache-miss…). Maybe just for self-teaching / testing 64 bit code ?
In that case, it mostly serves as setting the price for the competing CPU boards.
If you can get a board with 64 bits Snapdragon, it means competing boards must be cheaper!
i wish the have the use one of the Chinese soc that would likely bring the cost down
or at least the chinese vendor like cubietech , orange pi releasing a 96board form factor.
qualcomm based product is relatively expensive, compared to Allwinner (H3 specifically, maybe A64) solutions
LeMaker Bass: S900 Soc,imagination powerVR G6230 GPU, 96boards
Do you guys think this board is expensive ?
When compared to raspberry pi 2 and odroid c1, i don’t think so.
Don’t forget the snapdragon 401c includes a 8 GB eMMC chip, wifi, bluetooth and gps.
Another thing i like is the linux open source GPU driver support : freedreno.
It lacks an ethernet port though, maybe more usb ports too.
And probably no VPU support under linux, that would be bad imho.
@quillan Kind of forgot about that………. hahaha and “it’s not been officially announced yet”, soo it can be a vaporware, who can say @nobe it is RELATIVELY expensive. it is not expensive when you r comparing performance and feature, but when you use price/deivce it is expensive. for me its like 2 RPi2 = 2 OrangePI2 = ~8 C.H.I.P. = 1 Dragonboard me sayz, the more the merrier. i use it for high volume, small load application and i dont need 8 GB eMMC chip bluetooth and gps., so this board not the right one for me. after all, it… Read more »

Cool link. I can also see they have a $35 LeMaker Guitar for $25. They somehow compare it to R-Pi2, but Guitar looks like a system-on-module, not a standalone board.
I’ll have to order these eight core arm boards. Too bad they don’t have SATA!
Mind you, the USB3.0 interface helps a lot.

Orange Pi PC is quad core 1.6Ghz H3 development board with only $15. We are producing Orange Pi PC. We will release it in about 20 days.
2 RPi2 = 2 OrangePI2 = ~8 C.H.I.P. = 1 Dragonboard=5 OrangePi PC

Thanks, but that link asks me to register to Weibo, I must have done it once, but I forgot the password, and it might require a mobile phone number (which I don’t have right now).

According to this, looks like the board isn’t vaporware and will be out Q4. There’s another CE form factor board they’re working on, freescale based, but no mention when that will be released:

Dragonboard 600c and Dragonboard 820c are in the works -> http://sp.chip1stop.com/snapdragon/
Some code for Dragonboard 600c has been committed to mainline Linux @ http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2016-April/421376.html
@Jean-Luc Aufranc (CNXSoft) I wonder how much the DragonBoard 820c will cost. My guess – north of $200.
