“CubieTruck Metal Case” kit can be purchased for $169 on Seeedstudio, or 149 Euros exc. VAT on EmbeddedComputer.nl. Considering that individually CubieTruck board goes for $89 to $95. and KingSpec 128GB SSD about $70, the kit price looks very aggressive, almost too good to be true.

The SSD is compulsory? People might want to put a 1TB HDD into this for NAS applications…

The CPU is not that fast, a dual core Cortex A7.

I’ve been using a KingSpec SSD in my Apple TV for over a year now. It’s no speed demon but it seems reliable enough.

What is the use of the built-in battery?

I received it yesterday, comes with LXDE desktop by default in the 8Gb internal memory and it works fine. The secondary SSD hard disk comes unformatted. The built-in battery it’s for up.
