Luckfox has recently released the Core1106 Core Board Rockchip RV1106 system-on-module with a compact 30x30mm size, 112 castellated pins designed to be soldered on top of a PCB, and an optional WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 module and IPEX 1.0 antenna connector.
The Rockchip RV1106 camera SoC integrates 128MB (G2 version) or 256MB (G3 version) DDR3L memory, a 4th-gen 1 TOPS NPU, and a 3rd-gen Image Signal Processor (ISP) that supports hardware video encoding (H.264/H.265). Other interfaces include MIPI CSI, RGB LCD, USB, Ethernet, GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, and more. These features make this board suitable for applications like AI-driven image recognition, smart cameras, IoT devices, and edge computing.

The Luckfox Core1106RV1106 system-on-module supports the Luckfox Pico SDK which is optimized for Linux-based development on Ubuntu LTS systems, with Ubuntu 22.04. The SDK provides various tools, libraries, and documentation tailored for AI, IoT, and image-processing applications. The company also mentions a Docker-based setup is available, for building, testing, and deploying applications. The SDK’s resources and streamlined workflows make the Core1106 particularly suited for developers looking to integrate the board into custom hardware or create edge computing solutions. Software and hardware-related resources and documentation can be found on the wiki.
It’s not quite the first Rockchip RV1106 hardware platform from the company since they introduced the LuckFox Pico Pro, Pico Max, and the Luckfox Lyra boards last year We have also written about Firefly CT36L AI Smart Camera making of the processor. It’s however the first time we’ve seen a Rockchip RV1106 system-on-module.
The Luckfox RV1106 Core Board is available on Amazon for $19.99 to $26.99 and AliExpress for $16.34 to $20.87 depending on the configuration (G2 vs G3, and optional WiFi).
