Khadas recently announced the Mind 2 mini PC with an Intel Core 5 or 7 “Meteor Lake” mini PC. But the company is prepping the launch of another similar device called the “Khadas Mind 2 AI Maker Kit Dev Workstation” or “Intel Core Ultra Processor (Series 2) AI PC Dev Kit” with a 15th Gen Intel Core Ultra 7 258V “Lunar Lake” processor offering up to 115 TOPS of AI performance. I’ll just call it “Khadas Mind 2 AI Maker Kit” for shorts.
The system ships with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, and Khadas says the new system is designed specifically for developers working on AI PC applications, but apart from the faster SoC, it comes with similar features as the Mind 2. This includes HDMI 2.0 video output, two 40Gbps USB4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, as well as two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports (10 Gbps). There’s also a Mind Link connector for expansion, but I’ve been told the Mind Dock is not compatible.

The Intel AI PC Development Kit ships with a 100W power adapter, a 1-meter USB-C to USB-C cable, a user manual, and a warranty card. While we are told the Khadas Dock is not compatible, the Khadas Mind 2 AI Maker kit can be plugged into the Khadas Mind Graphics GPU expansion dock. Khadas told CNX Software there are still working on the documentation, so we’ll get more details soon.
The mini PC ships with Windows 11 Home with Microsoft Copilot and Khadas highlights software for developers such as Intel OpenVINO toolkit, Visual Studio Code with Python and Jupyter plugins, Cmake, Git, Visual C Redistributable, OpenCV, and Chrome Canary. AI examples include the Open Model Zoo for OpenVINO toolkit, OpenVINO notebooks, ONNX samples, and WebNN samples. We’re also pointed to an AI PC Dev Kit Installation script for Windows on GitHub.
Unboxing
I’ve also received a sample, and while I’m not allowed to share test and benchmark results right now, I can share some unboxing photos with readers. The kit comes in a package reading “Mind Maker Kit” with some Python code showing it’s for developers.
The bottom side shows some basic specs such as the model number (K1019), SKU (KM-58V-MUS), Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD.
If we open the package we’ll find the mini PC, a 100W power supply (20V/5A), a USB-C cable for power, a user manual, and a warranty card.
The rear panel features two USB4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 connector, and two USB 3.2 ports.
The bottom side comes with a Khadas Mind Link connector and a magnetic cover…

Availability and Pricing
The Khadas Mind 2 AI Maker Kit Dev Workstation is available for pre-order for $1,199 now.The company plans to formally launch the Intel Core Ultra Processor (Series 2) AI PC Dev Kit in early January, at which point, I’ll be able to share my review, benchmark results with Windows 11 Home and Linux, and my experience with AI samples. As a side note, you can also find performance test results for other systems based on the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V on websites like Netbookcheck.net or CPUbenchmark.net. Several CPU benchmarks look similar to the Core i7-1360P found in the original Khadas Mind, but I’d expect much better results for 3D graphics and AI benchmarks.
