Videostrong HC1 Home Care Hub is a Smart Home/IoT gateway designed for the elderly that also serves as a smart speaker with 10-meter far-field voice recognition, a video phone with a video built-in camera and speaker, and a 4K Android TV box.

The system is based on an Amlogic S905Y4 quad-core Cortex-A35 processor coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB RAM, supports Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and LoRa, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity, and offers both HDMI 2.1 video output, and HDMI 2.0 video input.

The HC1 runs Android 11.0 with OTA firmware update support, The default package includes a power adapter and infrared & Bluetooth voice remote control, an HDMI cable, and a user manual. Videostrong also provides software solutions that integrate with Smart Home sensors (motion sensors, fire alarms, water leak sensors), health and fitness equipment/wearables, and multimedia features such as one-key video call and a 4K media player.

There’s a cloud platform to manage a fleet of HC1 Home Care Hub remotely, healthcare management, telemedicine, and AI fall detection to raise an alarm if an elderly person falls due to an accident or a health event. There seems to be a new market for “Smart Home systems for disabled and elderly” as others companies such as Develco and Mokosmart are also providing this type of solution, and a few research papers have been published in recent years about leveraging the IoT for elderly care.

The HC1 is an ODM product designed to be sold to nursing homes, smart hotels, hospitals, or even education establishments, and the company was unable/unwilling to provide a sample price since the price will vary depending on the customer’s configuration.
