Innodisk, better known for its industrial storage solutions and embedded peripherals, has recently announced a shift towards the AI industry, and the first products for this market are three USB 2.0 camera modules with 1920×1080 resolution.
All three camera modules are fixed focus. Innodisk EV2U-RMR2 offers HDR support, the EV2U-SGR1 is more compact, offers wider angles, and is optimized for low light conditions, while the EV2U-RMR1 supports HDR in a longer, but much thinner and narrower form factor and is equipped with an M5 lens, instead of an M12 lens for the other models.

Innodisk camera modules are FCC and CE certified, offered with 3 years of warranty, and compliant with the USB Video Class (UVC), meaning they’ll work with most operating systems including Windows, Linux, Android, and macOS. The modules will mostly be used for AI image recognition for surveillance, retail, and healthcare applications such as smart parking or smart charging stations to detect number plates, ATMs, hospital bedside infotainment systems, and more.
Innodisk camera modules appear to be available now, although I could only find them listed on a Vietnamese store, where two MIPI fixed-focus camera modules are also showcased, namely EVDM-OOM1 (4192x 3120 resolution) and EV2M-OOM1 (1920×1200), both designed for NVIDIA Jetson Nano/Xavier NX. How to display and communicate Innodisk releases USB camera moduleswith ubuntu OS 16.04 64bit Qt creator
The Innodisk camera module will just show up as a standard UVC USB camera. You should just find a code sample with Qt creator that works with a USB webcam, and I don’t see why it would not work with the Innodisk camera.
