The embedded computer supports desktop or wall mounts. It ships with the Ubuntu 22.04 operating system with NVIDIA JetPack SDK 6.2 for “Super mode” support. Target applications range from intelligent automation to robotics and smart surveillance.
A separate MCU provides Out-of-Band (OOB) manageability for the system. It works separately from the Jetson module, and features an Ethernet port, a dedicated M.2 3042 slot providing 4G LTE network connectivity, and a micro USB port. The purpose is to remotely manage the system over Ethernet or 4G LTE network to check the system status, do chassis control (power on, power off..), firmware updates, and so on.
It’s certainly not the first fanless embedded computer based on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano or Orin NX we’ve covered, and alternatives include DFI X6-MTH-ORN fanless Edge AI Box computer, Aetina AIE-CO21, AIE-CO31, AIE-CN31, and AIE-CN41 models, and the more compact Portwell PJAI-100-ON edge AI computer with Orin Nano only among others. Each Jetson Orin Nano/NX platform has its own features and benefits, and the four optional PoE ports on the EC3100 are a fairly unique feature, with others lacking support or being limited to only two PoE ports (DFI model).
IBASE has just announced the EC3100 embedded computer, but the product will only become available in Q3 2025. Additional information may be found on the product page.
