Boardcon EM1103B is an AIoT SBC powered by a Rockchip RV1103B SoC designed for surveillance applications with dual camera, fingerprint, and a PIR sensor. This unique combination makes it suitable for vision-based applications such as smart cameras, doorbells, and battery-powered surveillance devices.
The SBC consists of a compact core board that mounts to a large baseboard, which gives access to all the necessary I/O modules and also provides power. The SBC together features 100 Mbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 OTG, UART, GPIO, and interfaces for speakers, microphones, fingerprint sensors, and PIR motion sensors. It also features PoE (5V) support and expandable storage via microSD. Additionally, it integrates two MIPI CSI camera interfaces mad the RV1103B’s 8MP hardware ISP with enables advanced image processing features such as HDR, 3A (AE/AF/AWB), and 3DNR. The chip also supports H.264/H.265 video encoding for local and cloud streaming.

In terms of software, the company mentions that this SBC runs Linux 5.10.209 with U-Boot 2017.09. Other than that, there is not much information present at the time of writing.
We have previously seen the Rockchip RV1103 SoC and variants used in the Femtofox Pro v1 LoRa and Meshtastic development board, LuckFox Pico WebBee, LuckFox Pico Mini, and LuckFox Pico SBCs. The EM1103B SBC uses the Rockchip RV1103B variant, which we have yet to cover. This variant appears to have flexible memory options up to 256MB DDR3L (vs. fixed 64MB DDR2), adds eMMC 4.51 support, and features an upgraded ISP capable of 8MP input and 4K encoding at up to 200 Mbps—significantly higher than RV1103’s 4MP and 60 Mbps. MIPI CSI is improved to support a 4-lane configuration, while legacy interfaces like LVDS and DVP are dropped. Additionally, the RV1103B reduces UART, SPI, PWM, and SARADC resources for more efficiency.
The company hasn’t disclosed any pricing information about the product. More information can be found on the company’s products page. (Note: armdesigner.com links are removed automatically by some adblocker filters)
