The 256GB NVMe SSD comes preloaded with the NVIDIA Jetpack 6.0 or above, and the NV8600-Nano AI developer kit supports most of the same features as the NVIDIA Jetson Nano Orin Super Developer Kit.
The differences are highlighted in the table below. Basically, the AAEON devkit adds a 256GB NVMe SSD, an M.2 B-Key socket and a SIM card slot for cellular connectivity, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports (6x instead of just 4x), three GbE ports for a total of four, and various serial interfaces. It’s also designed as an industrial board working in the -25°C to +70°C temperature range and is suitable for mass production. I’m not sure why the table says the NVIDIA devkit ships with an 802.11ac/ab/gn wireless network interface, since as far as I know, it’s just an option.

What’s not shown in the table is the price. Nothing can compete against the subsidized $249 NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, and the NV8600-Nano AI Developer Kit can be purchased exclusively on the UP Shop for $649.00. So it’s mostly interesting if you absolutely need the extra features and/or require a production-ready board.
