The Orange Pi RV SBC powered by a StarFive JH7110 RISC-V SoC was first introduced at the Orange Pi Development Conference 2024, a little over one year ago. But somehow, the company first launched the Orange Pi RV2 SBC based on Ky X1 SoC (rebranded Spacemit K1) earlier this month, and has only started taking orders for the Orange Pi RV board.
The credit card-sized SBC ships with 2GB to 8GB RAM, supports M.2 NVMe SSD storage, provides gigabit Ethernet, built-in WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and MIPI DSI video interface, a MIPI CSI camera interface, a 40-pin GPIO header, and more.

Orange Pi provides support for Linux, and the product page points to a Debian folder on Google Drive that’s currently empty. The user manual, PDF schematics, and tools should also soon be released, but right now all icons on the Download section are placeholders.
I’m not sure what releasing another JH7110 credit card-sized SBC brings to the market in 2025. We already have the Milk-V Mars and Geniatech XPI-7110 in a very similar form factor, and other boards with more features like the StarFive Vision 2. Having said that, JH7110 upstream status is now much better than a few years ago, with most features implemented in mainline u-boot and Linux, which won’t be the case for the Ky X1/SpacemIT K1 right now. Orange Pi is also pretty good at optimizing costs, and the Orange Pi RV sells for the same price as the Orange Pi RV2.

Orange Pi RV prices:
- 2GB RAM – $30.00
- 4GB RAM – $39.90
- 8GB RAM – $49.90
Those prices are available on the company’s AliExpress store, and you can also find the RISC-V boards on Amazon for $41.99 to $63.99.
