I understand the red cross in the block diagram above are pads designed in the OSM Size-L standard, but not available on the MediaTek Genio 510 SoC and by extension to the OSM-MTK510 system-on-module. While Size-L is the largest OSM module, it’s still fairly small at just 45x45mm.

ADLINK provides a Yocto Linux BSP by default, and Android can be supported on request. Extended support is provided through Foundries.IO Linux microPlatform (LMP) based on OpenEmbedded and the Yocto Project.  The company did not mention any evaluation carrier board for the OSM-MTK510, but I can see they have an upcoming OSM devkit for the OSM-IMX93 Size-L module, so they might potentially use the same carrier board with the MediaTek Genio 510 module.

While the press release announce the “launch” of the OSM-MTK510 module, the product page mentions the information is only preliminary, and I indeed spotted a few mistakes here and there. I’d assume the module might not be available right now, but should be in a few months. There are two standard SKUs:

  • OSM-MTK510-2G-32G-CTOSM Size-L module with Genio 510 SOC, NPU, 2 GB LPDDR4, 32 GB eMMC, 0°C to 70°C
  • OSM-MTK510-4G-32G-EROSM Size-L module with Genio 510 SOC, NPU, 4 GB LPDDR4, 32 GB eMMC, -40°C to 85°

Other variants would have to be built upon request further increasing the lead time.
