Waveshare’s Jetson Orin NX Development Kit is an AI edge computing platform tailored for robotics and AI-driven applications built around the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module 8GB/16GB delivering up to 70 TOPS and 100 TOPS of AI performance, respectively. It features the JETSON-ORIN-IO-BASE base board, which provides essential interfaces like an M.2 socket, DisplayPort (DP) video output, and USB ports, making it easy for users to connect multiple sensors and peripherals for high-performance AI tasks.

Jetson Orin NX development kit details

NVIDIA Jetson modules and developer kits use the Jetson SDK for AI application development. The software includes pre-trained models from the NGC catalog, optimized for tasks like object detection, classification, language translation, and more. These models can be fine-tuned with the NVIDIA TAO Toolkit and custom datasets, simplifying AI development and reducing production time and costs. The JETSON-ORIN-NX-16G-DEV-KIT-B expands on Kit A by incorporating a 13.3-inch capacitive touch screen LCD with a 1920×1080 resolution, supporting up to 10-point touch, along with a built-in ferrite Hi-Fi speaker. This configuration enables real-time image display from the camera, improving human-computer interaction for AI tasks.

The Jetson Orin NX AI Development Kit is available on Aliexpress, starting at $723.11 with free shipping, and on Amazon for $789.99 and up under the Yahboom brand. It can also be purchased from the Waveshare official store, with prices ranging from $674.99 to $1,104.99.

The same board is available from Hiwonder starting from $818.99, as the Jetson Orin NX ALT development kit, with a few modifications. It comes equipped with a pre-installed 256GB SSD, since the Orin Nano core module lacks built-in eMMC storage, requiring an NVMe SSD or SD card for operation. The SSD includes the system image, making the kit ready to use out of the box. Additionally, the kit features a pre-installed 8265AC NGW dual-frequency Wi-Fi and Bluetooth network card, complete with an antenna. It also provides an HDMI 1.4 port and two 15-pin CSI camera ports for added connectivity.
