Synaptic has unveiled the SYN4383 and SYN43756(E) high-performance “Veros” SoCs with tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3/5.4, and an optional 802.15.4 radio.
The SYN4383 is an upgrade to SYN4382 SoC that supports 1,200 Mbps 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and 802.15.4 for Zigbee and Thread support. It supports real simultaneous dual-band (RSDB) operation and offers “greater system integration”. The SYN43756(E) is similar but lacks an 802.15.4 radio and RSDB support.
SYN4383 “Triple Combo 3” Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, 802.15.4 SoC
Synaptics Veros SYN4383 key features:
- Tri-band 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) up to 1200 Mbps throughput, RSDB with 2.4 GHz radio and either 5 or 6
GHz radio, and support for legacy 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi - Bluetooth 5.4 (Bluetooth 6.0 compatible) with LE Audio, Channel Sounding for accurate positioning
- 802.15.4 radio for Thread and Zigbee
- Application-layer support for Matter-compliant security and interoperability
- Smart Co-Ex for WiFi/Bluetooth coexistence in the 2.4 GHz band
- Integrated power amplifiers (PAs) and low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) with high transmit (Tx) power level and receive (Rx)
sensitivity, and integrated T/R switch.
The company also mentions that “Veros features built-in support for Synaptics Astra, the AI-native compute platform for the IoT, to streamline Edge AI product development and deliver context-aware devices for immersive user experiences across consumer, automotive, enterprise, and industrial applications”. I’m not sure what that means in practice, but I guess it has “AI” so it sells…
Note you won’t find an application core in Synaptics wireless SoCs, because the company has a different way of defining what an SoC is compared to most of the field. So instead it must be connected to a host processor through PCIe for WiFi and 802.15.4, and UART/I2S/PCM for Bluetooth. Target applications include multimedia streaming for the Smart Home, automotive infotainment, position tracking, personal area networks, security, and smart factories/industry 4.0.
SYN43756(E) tri-band Wi-Fi & Bluetooth combo SoC
- Tri-band 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) up to 1200 Mbps throughput and support for legacy 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi
- Bluetooth 5.3 (Bluetooth 6.0 compatible, but no Channel Sounding?) with LE Audio
- Advanced Wi-Fi/Bluetooth co-existence
- Integrated power amplifiers (PAs) and low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) with high transmit (Tx) power level and receive (Rx)
sensitivity; capable of 1024QAM over 10 meters - Dedicated Bluetooth antenna
- Internal Bluetooth PA supports two modes: Normal Output Power Mode (14 dBm) and High Output Power Mode (20 dBm)
Target applications are the same as for the SYN4383 except for position trackers since Channel Sounding is missing. The SYN43756(E) is a lower-cost part suitable for applications where an 802.15.4 radio, WiFi RSDB, and the latest Bluetooth features are not needed.
Both chipsets are available now. More details may be found on the products page and the press release.

Is this again a version of the broadcom wifi? Just wondering because of the 43 in the type designation
I believe Synaptics bought Broadcom’s wifi division.
That sounds plausible, thanks
Interestingly it seems brcm sold the wireless iot group to cypress now infineon and to synaptics…
