The mini PC comes preloaded with Windows 11 Pro. When we reviewed the GEEKOM A7 we were impressed by its performance since it was the fastest mini PC we had tested so far, and everything worked as expected with the fan staying relatively quiet. When we reviewed the system with Ubuntu 22.04/24.04, the performance was excellent and everything worked except for the MediaTek MT7922 wireless module (Azurewave AW-XB591NF) with working WiFi 6 in Ubuntu 24.04 (not working well in Ubuntu 22.04), but Bluetooth did not work at all. Luckily, Bluetooth now works when installing Linux 6.10, so the GEEKOM A7 is now fully supported in Ubuntu 24.04 Linux too.

The $129 coupon code CNX129OFF for the GEEKOM A7 is valid until August 18, 2024. As usual, customers benefit from free local shipping from a US warehouse, a 30-day return and refund period, and a 3-year warranty.

This is one excellent machine. I bought mine after seeing the excellent reviews here and over there at Liliputing.com and I’m totally happy.

The only things I can think of that would make it even better would be a second M.2 slot (which is actually present in the PCB, but for some reason doesn’t have the necessary connector soldered to it) and using a Ryzen Pro CPU with ECC support.

I managed to get thunderbolt egpu working on this minipc. Different brand but approximately same size and cpu on Ubuntu 24.

Great news! But that was via compatibility with USB4, right? What about the resulting performance?

Yes, it was plugged in USB-C which supports USB4 and theoreticly could be signal compatible with thunderbolt devices.
You need to install bolt utility and approve new device. But due to multi gpu issues I simply disabled iGPU, rebooted and tried few games without changing anything else.

Perfomace-wise I did not notice any difference compared my desktop PC but there could be performance drop.
